Yes, I got the hair done. I forgot the diskette with the pics on at my brother's place, though, so I haven't had a chance to upload them yet. I'll tell you as soon as I have, though.
The film is not listed on the IMDB site, which is really weird. It could be that they've renamed it or something. I've seen the trailer for it a couple of times on TV, though, so it should be out there somewhere. It's about a guy who has the best luck in the world and makes a fortune out of it by gambling, playing the stock market and stuff. But apparently, people don't like it and they think that he's doing something criminal or something. Well, that's what I gathered from watching the trailer, anyways. Not alot of info to be gathered from a 30 second mish-mash of clips from the movie.

Having done a bit of a websearch, it appears to be an ad for a Mercedes, cunningly disguised as a film trailer. Although it isnt totally clear that there is no film.....
Either way, quite interesting as an idea. Now all I have to do is capture that sense of ground-breaking post-modern commercialism-as-culture hippness into a name badge and we're home and dry!

http://www.luckyluckystar.com should answer any queries.
I thought it WAS a film and even had an argument with my old man about it ... it would seem though he was right! It is just an ad but if there's enough interest, they would consider making a film

Hmmm.. Tricky. I was actually considering seeing that film. Cunningly disguised Merc commercial, though. Too cunning for me, I'm afraid, as I never even thought of the possibility of it not being a trailer for a film. Bad commercial people at Merc HQ.

I thought the object of the advert was to get the product talked about.
Seems like they know what they're doing....
Still celibate here....
It's the kissing and cuddling I miss the most.

Well, they got us talking about it, yes, but since we talked about it as a film and not the Mercs, which was the true product promoted by the ad, wouldn't it seem that they missed the point a bit? It's like making a commercial about a washing machine, but instead focusing on the washing detergent.
Still here as well.
Lucky, how about drawing a star by a slot machine that's just hit the jackpot and there's money spewing out of the slot machine?

What are you keeping your hand in, Ekki?
I'm sulking because I can't go to the meet-up in London.
Thanks for the hug.
I just got a from a local celebrity who is relaunching the Marks & Spencers in Grimsby.
Tall, gorgeous young man.
*sigh*
Back to reality & my empty bed.

and AGB so that you don't have to stomp your feet. I missed the meet as well, and it turned out that I could've gone after all, since our game yesterday got cancelled.

I too could have made the meet having thought I couldn't ... having said that if I had gone to the meet I wouldn't have been out in Edinburgh on Poets

Just checking in after the meetup weeknd. Nothing too controvertial happend which is a shame, except for the fact that UH remained teetotal for the entire night
Can't remember whether I behaved myself or not. Nobody has said anything yet, so I don't know whether that is a good or a bad thing.

*wonders what "I wouldn't have been out in Edinburgh on Poets " means*
Thanks for all the and you guys.
Much appreciated.
Although I wonder if I stomped my feet too hard because this morning my neighbour's husband knocked on my door and asked if I wanted a lodger.
When I said I couldn't have lodgers because I live on benefits, he siad OK & asked me out for a drink instead.
He says his wife has told him to find somewhere else to live as she wants a divorce.
He said he had a "friend" as living with his wife was like living with an "Ice Maiden" but then his wife found out and kaboom!
I asked why doesn't he move in with his "friend" and he said "When the wife found out, I told my friend I needed time to sort myself out...and when I went to tell her I was moving out, she told me she's seeing someone else!"
I got the feeling I was somewhere on a list of "people to try it on with".....
Key: Complain about this post
