If your planning on going to uni get an HSBC student bank account, up until september (and probably for the next few yrs) they were offering a 4 yr student rail card (1/3 off fares except during peak when you have to pay a minimum but you should still get somesort of discount)...the cash alternative is £50 but the railcard is a much better deal because if you've got it your more likely to use it.
To get a young persons railcard go here: they are £18 a yr (so £72 for 4 yrs) and anyone under 25 is eligable (also mature students).

Whenever I hear the word "mature" it makes me think of smelly cheese
Although "mature" is better than "elderly" - when I was pregnant with Andrew I was listed as an "elderly primip"

My mum had my brother when she was 36, and I still don't reckon she's old!!! The hospital did though ...

My mum was 44 when she had her last baby.
That was hard work...
In yesterday's paper was a story about a woman aged 58 who's had a baby after IVF treatment.

Mature student...over 21
But to get the railcard you need to have proof from the uni/college concerned - either a letter or a registration card
If you want cheap rail travel get hold of a wheelchair and use old fashioned trains....if you stay in the chair for the whole journey in the guards van then you travel half price.

Blimey, you've done your research!
Only one question, what do you do with the wheelchair the other end?
Abandon it and off?

I'm more distressed that civillians with /no/ choice over the current circumstances are going to die. The astronauts at least made a decision knowing that there could be dangerous consequences.
