"It doesn't matter who you vote for,
the government always gets in."
"WAR IS PEACE.
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY.
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH"
(but it looks like Tony and George were listening)
"A thing is not necessarily true because a man dies for it."
"It is our moral duty to intervene today, straight away,
to help the Iraqi people in their difficulty.
"
"When a stupid man is doing something he is ashamed of,
he always declares that it is his duty"
"Here's what is real
I just want a girl
As cool as Kim Deal"
Haiku, of best view,
says look at me, in goo blue,

Welcome to my little place
Hello Again , nice of you to drop by - just don't tread on the flower beds.
In the real world, I work in accounts for a tv company (see illustration). You can see me here
Here on H2G2, I go by the name of Kim Deal - legendary Bass player with my all time favourite band, The Pixies and later, singer with The Breeders and The Amps. I love music and aside from the Pixies and their various spin offs, I also love The Beta Band, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Throwing Muses,
Half Man Half Biscuit, Bjork, Tom Lehrer,, The Dandy Warhols - and more recent additions to my playlists include Franz Ferdinand, Scissor Sisters, Feeder and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Aside from listening to music, I'm a bit of a political animal and sad to say, conspiracy theorist. As the late, Kurt Cobain once sang, 'Just because your paranoid, don't mean they're not after you'. I'm a strong believer in civil liberties, (aka a pothead) strongly socialist and I must confess to being one of those people that goes on about George Bush, pretty much constantly - but when Evil walks the Earth, it seems important to point it out to people.
Aside from this, I love films and I love Stand up comedy. I used to do a little amateur comedy but stopped because it's utterly terrifying - I am therefore in a position to truly respect the work of some of our great stand ups. My all time hero is Bill Hicks - I think he's the closest we've had in recent times to a prophet. As funny as he was - and boy was he funny - he had a profound understanding of the awfulness of much of our modern, consumer based society. Referring to the Earth as the 'third mall from the sun' and discussing the legitimacy of the first Gulf War by pointing out that 'it wasn't really a war....a war is when two armies are fighting' he continually challenged what he referred to as 'Bovine American' sensibilities. Over here, I would classify the equIvalent as being the tabloid press agenda - especially the Daily Mail - which pretends to be a real newspaper rather than a comic like the others - making it the most dangerous of all.
So, fittingly, before I refer you to some cool places to visit, I will end my little space with....
Bill's dream.....
"The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think that it's real because that's how powerful our minds are...Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question - is this real, or is it just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us. They say, 'Hey! Don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride,' And we...kill those people. Ha ha ha. 'Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride. SHUT HIM UP! Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account and my family. This just has to be real.' But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok. But it doesn't matter because it's just a ride. And we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love.
The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one.
Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defence each year, and instead spend it feeding, clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, for ever, in peace."
Bill Hicks Died, aged 32, 26th February 1994 of pancreatic cancer - depriving me of an obvious conspiracy theory with which I could blame the government (although you never know with the CIA). If his star is shining down from above, he must be laughing his ass off to see the unnecessary movie sequel that is 'George Bush 2 - like father, like son'. I wish he was here to help us laugh about it because I really do feel like crying.

THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO AAARRGGGHHH!
1. All Politicians (except Tony Benn - who gets an honourable exception, for choosing democracy and risking not being choosen, when he could have just had a seat in the Lords).
The others can all go and fry.
2. Posh and Becks - I mean WHY? No really, why?
3. Actors who cry when they get given Oscars - it’s not a nobel prize - it’ not real achievement - it’s just dressing up. Let’s all stop pretending it matters.
4. Pigeons - I don’t need to give a reason.
5. Vic and Bob - not funny at the beginning of their careers, not funny now. Will someone please stop giving them tv shows?
6. Patsy Kensit. Stop marrying celebrity cokeheads, stop pretending your an actress, stop being on the front of heat magazine. In short, just stop.
7. Jamie Oliver. No matter how many bits of chilli you put in it and how you try and describe it as bruschetta, putting beans on toast on the menu at your posh restaurant and charging £7 for it, just because Heinz offered you a wad of cash to do it, is shit.
8. Tracy Emin. The fire at the Saatchi warehouse was proof that insurance companies are sometimes right in describing accidents as ACTS OF GOD.
We’ve only just begun.......
And another thing...
Buy Fair Trade - you don't need the extra few pence as much as the third world farmer who grew your food does. Everytime you buy an ethical product, you share the world's wealth and you deprive a multinational, consumeristic, selfish, unethical company of revenue - and therefore power. YOU are important and what you do counts - vote with your money, it's the only thing most multinationals understand.
In case you've forgotten yours,
Help yourself to a towel.
