It's snowing again here as well.

I shovelled yesterday morning, and the snow was as heavy as concrete!

Poor things all...we're still having weather.

And we're still* not* Envious*
No really we're not... Keep all of your horrible* hot* weather... we've got our loverly fresh envigerating 'fresh' air and loverly cold weather.... no, we're not the slightest* bit envious..... (PS, can I come over there until its spring in the UK?)

The snow clearly does not understand the proper rules.

It's okay for snow to come down between midnight and 6 a.m., provided that it not do so more than once a week. Instead, it has tended to snow constantly for two or three days at a time, and come back less than two days later!

I invited you all to come - didn't I once say I had a vacancy for a 2legs? The bacon's a bit foreign, though you can get British stuff if you look for it. They fly it in, frozen.

a) Yes you can bring bacon
b) Flight time is four and a half hours from the UK
c) Ticket prices vary, but you can get a bargain if you keep an eye open and don't *have* to travel on certain days. Cheapest is in the region of about £50, one way, but can be anything up to about £100.
d) There is beer, yes. And spirits which are very cheap. At the moment a litre of Jamesons is in the region of about 12 euros.
e) Stuff? Well, I couldn't possibly say...they do eat a lot of octopus here...Is that what you meant?

Today and yesterday it was very hot for the time of year. 25C in the shade. Quite dusty too, because we are having a lot of sand blown over from the Sahara desert.

I can just* about handle 25 celcius... so long as I've got beer (and bacon natch)

Nice pun Yes, they do. It's not compulsory but you do get very funny looks from the waiters if you pick all the tentacly bits out of your paella and leave them on the side of your plate.

I am trying to acquire a taste for it, or rather get over the squeamish feel I have for it.

Maybe it would be better with a few bits of crispy bacon?

Actually, not sure I've ever had octapus... I like squid.... that is about the same thing isn't it? blimey... not had that squid dish the Chinese downstairs do in ages

No - squid is an innocuous bystander compared to octopus. Mmmmm, little rings of calamari - they are pleasant!

I like fried squid with salt and pepper. I've had it the Chinese way, and also the Greek way. I haven't had octopus, though.

I like to cook it in a little butter/olive oil, dipped into spicy and seasoned breadcrumbs. Then a teensy squeeze of lemon juice and some fresh bread.
