Our old German Shepherd was a true force of nature... afte doing the 
bit, he used to stick his nose under people's ribs and lever them out of bed!

The family dog of ours isn't daft... she always heads up to bed before any of the humans in the house, picks the warmest looking bed, gets herself under the duvets and steals all the pillows... Its a real struggle sometimes to find room for a human in the bed when she's nabbed most all of it

My Father claims the dog is the only reason he can sleep; she keeps his arthritic knees warm 
Mind, she does have a terrible habbit of, each time her human bed companion turns over, of licking them to death each time
