Well you would say that, wouldn't you? smiley - tongueout

So, what are you up to this weekend (lots of family excursions organised)?

My two break up for their six week school summer holidays this Friday...

Good luck with the rugger game (I would say "Break a leg!" but...) smiley - tongueout When is it that you're off on your rugby tour (I've forgetten where smiley - blush)?

At the moment we don't have anything planned for the summer school holidays, although I have been trying to find cheap accommodation in or around Loch Ness, Scotland as John and I thought we'd take the kids "Nessie" hunting. smiley - monster However, it will depend on whether John's mum will be available to pet sit for a couple of days and with John's current state of health, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't make it make it there. smiley - erm

However, there is a local stables that runs pony trekking excursions in the Dales for £6.00 per hour and Chris says that he'd like to go, so I'm going to phone them and take Chris horse riding. It's been twenty-three years since I've ridden a horse and I expect I'll be very stiff the next day, but just thinking about riding a horse again is really exciting! smiley - smiley If Chris enjoys it (Mair doesn't want to come), then we may go for a two-hour excursion the next time. smiley - biggrin

The rugby tour to Vietnam isn't until next year...unfortunately.

Actually, i just remembered Deb is going out on Sunday night, so i will be baby sitting.

I only went horse ridding once, can't say it did much for me...

I remember well how the novice chaps all used to wince and fill the air with expletives as the horse used to stop suddenly and they slid forward in the saddle. smiley - bigeyes

Is Deb going anywhere nice?

John used to hate being left baby sitting and always asked me how long I was going to be in a "Your not leaving me alone with them are you?" sort of voice! smiley - bigeyes

Deb is just going out with a friend. Rebecca goes to bed about 7:30 so it's no big deal at the moment. Means i will probably be on h2g2 that night...

Hey Linus

Well I hope Deb had a nice time! smiley - bigeyes How was your rugger match (any bruises worth prodding)? smiley - winkeye

John is watching the cricket at the moment (what's left of it!). Australia only to get one more run and we've lost (even if we did just manage to get two wickets out in two overs)! smiley - bigeyes

Didn't end up playing this week, still injured from last weekend smiley - sadface Thankfully we won anyway

Would you like the details of my Zimmer Frame manufacturer? smiley - winkeye

I did my chest & arms at the gym yesterday and this morning have woken up with a pulled trap (I'm supposed to be working my back & shoulders today...)! smiley - erm John says that I was sleeping with my arms above my head, so maybe it was that. Either way, I'm still waiting for the pain killer to kick in so that I can move enough to get on with the housework! smiley - angel

Thanks for the advice Linus! smiley - nahnah

John gave me a wonderful massage yesterday afternoon and drove the car and carried the shopping for me in the afternoon whilst we left the kids at home! smiley - bigeyes (I didn't stop talking though!)smiley - tongueout

As Mair is now 14, we are legally able to leave her either looking after Chris and on her own in the house (Hooray!). Our first taste of freedom in years! smiley - biggrin

I spend most of yesterday (in-between feeding the family and the pets) sleeping as I was so full of pain killerssmiley - drunksmiley - cdouble, but feel much better today.smiley - hangover

I think that I must have injured my trap when I jumped from the top of our compost heap, having climbed over the graveyard wall into our garden after walking the dogs, as I remember at the time that I landed awkwardly... smiley - silly

Hey Linus

Post 77

Linus...42, i guess that makes me the answer...

perhaps you should consider putting a gate in smiley - winkeye

Weather forecast is for rain, rain and more rain. Doesn't look good for rugby this weekend as the oval is already flooded

Hey Linus

Post 78

Gwennie

That's a shame re the rugger...smiley - sadface

We have got a garden gate but can't put one in the graveyard wall which is a four foot high dry stone wall that is a couple of hundred years old, which our garden backs on to. I usually climb over this as a short cut on my way home from walking the dogs and on to our compost heap, just the other side of the wall.

The graveyard itself is about 300 years old and is lovely as it is full of big old trees, bird song and is very quiet. smiley - smiley I usually walk through the graveyard on my way home from the fields on the other side of it. I guess I'm just getting too old to be jumping off the top of compost heaps! smiley - biggrin

Hey Linus

Linus...42, i guess that makes me the answer...

and too young to lie down on it smiley - winkeye

So you spend a lot of time haunting the graveyard then ?

Hey Linus

Post 80

Gwennie

Ha! Ha! smiley - vampire

Yes, in particular chasing young hooligans away from the disused chapel at its centre as they like to hang out there to get drunk (amongst other things). I've even caught a few in our garden, probably casing the joint to see whether they can break into our shed or garage... smiley - steam
