Hey Linus
Gwennie Posted May 15, 2001
Congratulations (albeit belatedly) on your new job and I hope you enjoy it.
When you say that you've survived the start of the rugby season, do you mean as a participant or as a drunken spectator?
The cricket season is starting over here so my hubby John is well happy!

Gwennie Posted May 16, 2001
One more season before you pack it in all together or one more season until the respite before the new season commences?

I have started planning our end of season rugby tour for next year (vietnam, Laos and Cambodia so i think i will just concentrate on that next year. still involved with the club with none of the training and all of the drinking

Hi Linus. I've been saving some mushrooms for you. Hi Gwennie. A nice v.t.? You look as lovely as ever. Been gone for so long, I'd forgotten what great friends I have.
Hey Linus
Gwennie Posted May 27, 2001
Ali! My you're popping up all over the place! It's wonderful to see you here again! Welcome back!
I'll have a please.
Linus, it sounds as though you've got the best end of the bargain there with all of the benefits without the bruises! How long are you away for on these tours?

Alicat what an absolute delight. I thought we had lost you...
Gwennie, well the plan is to go for 3 weeks. We have 4 teams to play against, Saigon, Hanoi, Vientiane and Phnom penh. Apart from that, i want to expose everyone to as much culture as possible...
Hey Linus
Gwennie Posted May 29, 2001
Err...What sort of exposure were you considering Linus (Not the sort that requires clinic check-ups one hopes!)?

I wish! *Wistful sigh*
I've recently been chatting to Swiv regarding her impending holiday to Greece and reminiscing about my many happy holidays backpacking around the Greek Islands. Unfortunately, all it succeeded in doing was making me feel very old when I realised that I was there in the mid to late 1970's!

Gwennie Posted Jun 6, 2001
True! Even then, there were masses of Aussies & Kiwis lurking about with their diving/snorkelling gear in tow.
Strangely enough, I don't remember them drinking Fosters either!
I wonder whether the Greeks still call instant coffee "sic" in all their menus? Have you ever tried Greek coffee? It's thick, black and sweet and is served with a glass of cold water to wash it down with.
Hey Linus

I don't really drink coffee much but i did try greek coffee once. They even read my future in the sludge that gets left behind
Hey Linus
Gwennie Posted Jun 15, 2001
Beware of Greeks telling fortunes!
How is your not-so-new job going then and have you settled in yet?
Hey Linus
Linus...42, i guess that makes me the answer... Posted Jun 18, 2001
Seems to be going well (i think i have got them bluffed ).
Settled in well, there are quite a number of new people around which makes it a bit easier...
Hey Linus
Gwennie Posted Jun 18, 2001
That's the idea! Keep 'em completely confused!
I really miss going out to work (I used to work as a clerk in an E&D Drawing Office at about the time their first CAD was introduced and nowadays, there's not one drawing board in sight!
Even though I work as a volunteer in the Red Cross shop two days a week and attend college the remaining three afternoons, I feel that it's not the quite the same. I don't know how able my autistic son, Chris will be once he's older and whether I'll be able to go out to work, but at least by then I'll have worked my way through every part-time college course available, so should be able to find something that would pay enough to support our family (My hubby John is too ill to work or look after the kids during school holidays.).
