No Entry to sadness.


Sadness the word
has plagued man from the start
be it in silence or heard aloud
it covers the world
both near and far
in many forms it dwells near mankind
ready to pounce
whether hidden or not
it does not feel or have remorse
but effects one or many alike
there's no cure or any defence
no seas or mountains can halt its path
its seen and heard
felt by many each day
time is its ally
no break in its march
but not knowing why
or how it happened
the curse of sadness
can never enter this man
the battle its lost
for I am the wall
so solid it never can be breached
I see it and hear it
but no pain can it give
for the light of my smile
doth keep it at bay
sadness a word
I don't recognise
while breath in my lungs
allows me my life

Where were you?

Where was everyone that night
When the world fell around me?
Why did no one hear my plight
As he stripped and raped me?


Why did words refuse to come?
One ‘help me’ would have stopped it,
Hurt and shame kept me dumb.
Secrets that I was to scared to admit.


My skin cried in blood
The tears that refused to seep from my eyes.
The pain and the red flood
A scarlet slash as a disguise.


Where was everyone that night
When the world fell around me?
He took everything without invite,
This is the epitaph of the debris.

Depression


If you have never suffered from depression
There is no point in trying to give affection
As nothing can stop this raw emotion
For which drugs may not be the correction
You will find life is a complete contradiction
That nothing will help you finish this rendition
Nor will you ever complete this edition
Because you are suffering from depression

Hello everybody!
The other night I was kept awake by a lousy poem repeating itself in my head so I wrote it down and decided I would post it on here so you guys can suffer with it as well.

Sailing by on brightening skies,
That old, familiar blue.
But a glowing green
(The kind I've seen)
Could make your dreams come true.
And the crystal clear
Of a river near
Sports a softly whispering breeze.
But the brown and black
And the life you lack
Does naught but spread disease.

Anyhoo, that's not the full thing because by the time I got up to write it down I couldn't remember it all. The full version made more sense, but I still get a nice visual from it.

I often make up complex broadway musicals in the shower but they're waaay too long to put on here... plus I don't always remember them. I made up a song the other day in the shower that was loosely based on the book I read that day but I barely remember it now. One bit of it was...

What else could soothe repressions
But blissful indiscretions?
My heart was torn last fall.

I just started singing a tune and then improvised words. It sounds better with the tune.
