Be aware, the latest news,Though people may have different views
On how important this may be.
Lots of people just don't see.
They're all along the motorway,
On our roads and in the way.
But all we do is walk on by,
They're staring us straight in the eye.
Aliens from outer space
Come to move us from our place.
Listen to me. Don't be curt.
CONE ALERT! CONE ALERT!
Now, these pointed orange creatures,
May have many plant like features.
Car exhaust fumes it is said,
Are used to make them orange red.
It's photosynthesis they say
Or something like that anyway.
But, hold it! Stop! I've understood!
They may be here to do some good.
While we destroy the ozone layer,
They may be our only prayer.
They stop pollution going up.
They deserve a medal or a cup.
So next time you see a cone
Please don't swear or start to moan.
Just remember what you've read
And say "Thank you" to them instead.
Our planets going down real fast,
We'll soon be history the past.
The cones can't do the work alone.
We must save the planet we call our own.
