My New Car
(Dedicated to Ernest)
It's fast, it's sexy and it's rather cool
It has four wheels and a boot.
To enter use one of two doors as a rule
Or find an alternative route.
The outside is silver and shiny and new
The seats are both leather and red.
The boot's very little, so one can construe
There's clearly no space for a bed.
I bought my companion not long ago
And have instantly fallen in love.
My countenance smiling, shining, aglow
I thank God in heaven above.
I go for a drive in the morning and noon,
In the evening I wander again.
I listen intently to the engine's low tune
As the revs I attempt to maintain.
It corners superbly, accelerates well
It should with the petrol consumed.
I cannot find a fault with this beautiful thing
Even the exhaust is perfumed.
I love my new baby; I watch it all day,
It sits on the garage floor.
It took me 6 hours to get it in all the way
I'm not taking it out anymore!

abbi normal "Putting on the Ritz" with Dr Frankenstein Posted Nov 12, 2005
Freedom is not free or carefree.
Accept or reject ,we cannot escape unknown consequences of our choices.
Oh the pain of being free to love but having none.
Worse the pain of being free to hate and having one.
Free lovers who want to restrict.
Restricted lovers that want to be free.
Thankful for the moment not a fret to me, though we never know what will be.
Freedom of choice can overwhelm till it paralyzes.
Though oddly paraylsis of choice can stabalize what to utilize.
Nothing is as simple or difficult as it seems.
Lack of freedom and good excuses for it.
Abundance of Freedoms and bad excuses for it.
Worse to be of only one mind and kept with only the same kind.
Whether large or small no single kind can do it all.
Whether large or small we suffer from the fall.
Oh the lack of control of all!
It is mighty confusing but still worth using.
Freedom in a kingdom of the mind seems a survival of the fittest kind.

No not been unwell, just not had access to internet. I used to use it at work but they put this firewall up and cannot waste time at work anymore. Have to wait until I get to use my brothers computer. Probably time I brought my own.
Thanks for the concern though.

A Winter's Tale.
Matholwch - Brythonic Tribal Polytheist Posted Dec 21, 2005
Dear Professor,
As requested, A Winter's Tale....
I will go down to the woods tonight,
And there shall long remain.
With neither sound nor flickering light,
Until the dawning of the day.
For within that ebon fastness lies,
A many pillared hall.
Where through silence and sacrifice,
I may hear the elf king’s call.
And as I listen to that ancient lay,
I may see a silver field.
That ne’er suffered mankind’s sway,
Where none but to honour yield.
Perhaps I shall walk the faerie path,
That wends through that sweet meadow,
And come at last to the elf king’s rath,
To be greeted as friend and fellow.
There see laid upon damasked tables bright,
A feast for the Holly Lord,
There to dance away the solstice night,
Upon the moon dappled sward.
But with the morn I shall awake,
Turned ancient by the frost,
To my home my feet will make,
Tears freezing for what we’ve lost.
For what glory lies in man’s great splendour,
If he cannot see beauty in the dark night,
And measures worth by what he can squander,
Instead of what he can make good and right.
So ring out your noisesome solstice bells,
For the turning of the year,
But reflect on what the darkness tells,
It is the greed we must truly fear.
Many Solstice Blessings

Oh good! Then here is the one and only worthwhile (IMO! ) poem I ever wrote. It's a haiku:
No silver crescent
Thorn disturbs the spring starlight.
The Moon's dark face, full.

First Christmas
It's getting harder by the day
to ignore our fears.
Our "Lovely Lady's" gone away
leaving no-one to dry the tears.

Pattern-chaser, just as lil says, all friends are welcome to put their verse/poems on(must be own work though)it enhances the thread, as all can read.
Matholwch, many thanks, please feel free to add at anytime.
Like a tree, this thread will grow tall and strong, nourished by all the gardeners tending it

The winter tale was brilliant. If you close your eyes you could just be there. Of course you would not be able to read the poem at the same time!

You are all most generous to this barely capable word mechanic (I just's bolts 'em together miss).
One should be careful though what one asks for as I have quite a collection of dodgy doggerel which I am more than willing to share.
Perhaps after the festivities I may unleash a few more upon you.
