h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

[The King of the smallish kingdom of Malibu has summoned (no, not like Green Magic or Espers) you to his palace on urgent matters. The kingdom is surrounded by mountains, a big forest, and an ocean. Which way will you go?]

*Mystrunner walks down the dusty road, the wind blowing his long silver hair, and tossing his cloak. He stops, planting his staff in the ground.*

Hmm... that forest looks rather nice...

#E1 Is sitting on a neerby bench#

Indeed, and the mountins are rather apealing as well...

*trailing behind, cloak pulled tight around and a making a serious attempt at stealth, Wist crunches through a pile of twigs, trips over a rock and hits the ground cursing. Gets up an saunters over.*

Sounds good to me, although the beach could be good this time of year..

*A Shadowy figure slinks into view. He is wearing heavy chains, and a mask to stop him biting people. He is escorted by two guards, yet his eyes looked watery and scared.*
[Guard #1] Sir, we have found this... person outside in the mountains. He had butchered his way through a group of goblins, really messy. What shall we do with him?
[Prisoner] Mmph! Mmm! Mmmph!
[Guard #2] What?
[Prisoner] Mmmph!
[Guard #1] Fine! Take the mask off...
[Prisoner] Can I come?
[Guards] WHAT!?

[Lamwpick] [carring all the luggage on his back] Hoo boy.

[Prisoner] Is that a yes? Only I'm going to be in serious trouble if you don't let me come along...
[Guard #1] I'll say!

#Eric stands up and soulders his pack#

[Eric] So which direction?

*Frowns.*

Do... I know you? I usually venture alone.

[Eric]I don't think we've met. But you're a monk aren't you. I know some of the Easterly monasteries, we could have met before. I gathered you were a traveler from far away as there are no such places too near here. Either way there are bandits no matter what direction we take. It would be wise to go together. I'm here on the summons of the King of Malibu, the innkeeper back down the road told me you were asking directions to the palace. That would probably mean that we're pursuing the same quest as few people ever come this way from outside the kingdom. My name is Eric, a bounty hunter

[Prisoner] Maybe I should introduce myself. My name is Damien. I'm... uh... well, in a lot of trouble...
[Guard #1] So who's taking responsibility for this guy?
[Damien] "Responsibility?" What am I, cattle?

*Nods*

He seems innocent enough. No murderer ever spoke in such an even fashion.

*No one notices the to Damien.*

[Eric]Well if he does anything too bad I promise to track him down and kick his backside

[Wist]

*Tries to avoid the gaze of the guards and look innocent of everything.

*Can't remember pinching anything from around here but some things tend to blur together.

#Eric looks closely at wist#

[Eic}Hey, I know you, the king of Summri offered me 2000 gold coins to bring you in alive. I was busy at the time so could not accept. The bounty money's now likely been spend on the war but none the less...

[Eric]What did you do anyway?

[Wist]

It was all a big misunderstanding really,
I mean how was I to know she was his daughter,
and she said it was a gift,

Of course now were working together its probably not woth worrying about.
*backs off with a hesitant grin*

fionchadd enters, wearing a long red dress, with a bag slung over one shoulder.
"I got the summons, and I assume we are here for the same reason. may i join you on the journey? I travel better with a group."

[Eric]Of course you can come with us. The more the better. Now we just need to decide which way to go...
