HappyDude Posted Apr 12, 2001
Its not early as such, very few uk govenments run to the full five year term, holding it to coincide with the local elections saves a lot of time & money.

Hay, this time is the first general election I can vote in, but what's this I hear about not being able to talk about said elections?

As good a place as any - was just thinking about the restrictions last night (these sort of things keep me awake at night) when something occured to me - but I've completely lost it now - if anybody finds it can they give it back, please?
(this started out as a serious reply, and degenerated along with my memory )

No, I want to talk about it here - I can't, so I'm boycotting all BBC election stuff (except http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/election/factfiles/votemon.shtml which I couldn't resist).

Go to http://news.bbc.co.uk/vote2001/ and choose 'parties'. The Loonys are down the bottom of the list. You can get to their own stie from there too.
Have a read, and try not to think "ooh, that's actually a good idea". (They point out how many of their ideas have in fact been implemented by various governments over the years).
