hi Oetzi
i beleive it somewhat. I don't beleive the statement is generally true. There is much more to it. It is one of the most respected publications in the world though, and it is of non-US origin.

Yes I'm a subscriber. The editorial standard has fllen in the last 18 months. Generally it is THE publication. Present in all the key nexus hubs.
The stats are usually near enough. Reporting standards good with humanitarian issues to the fore. Like it or hate it, it is the seminal publication.
If your statement is upheld by at least three different sources I would'nt associate with it. But that's personal.

Some years ago I was an amateur radio enthusiast. The regimes we are talking about in the middle east used to torture both male and female captives. This was brodcast live on the shortwave bands. No mention of these regular broadcasts ever made it to the western media. Not to my knowledge anyway.

I heard yesterday, that the supreme court is going to hear the lawyers of British and Australian prisoners at Guantanamo. But will any good come of it? We can but pray!

Blickybadger, instead of mouthing off at people in the insulting manner I know you like to use, consider what was said! Watching Bollywood and French movies does not preculde being very peeved at the waves of Americanisms and the Hollywood historical revisionis,m of the films mentioned. (U-571 for instance.) On the subject of 'what is english?', read Bill Bryson's book on the subject, for one. It's available in libraries, in case you want to complain about cost - and best of all, Bryson's an American so you needn't fear encountering any upsetting ideas.
