I forgot to mention earlier but, in conclusion, I will probably watch the new Star Wares, but with lowered expectations.

Jesus H Christ.

I had not know about them until this stuff happened but I have now seen the light.

The Mr Plinkett Red Letter Media reviews of the Star Wars Prequels are......

SO DAMN GOOD THEY ALMOST MAKE UP FOR THE STAR WARS PREQUELS.

That feeling when you have laughed so hard you cannot breath and your sides hurt? Yeah that.

Watch them, watch them now. Gives yourselves over to the Dark side and revile in it.

Amy Pawloski, aka 'paper lady'--'Mufflewhump'?!? click here to find out... (ACE)

I must introduce all of you to Darths & Droids http://www.darthsanddroids.net/archive.html It's a photo webcomic covering Starwars from Episode 1 onwards (just gotten on Darth Vader's ship, are getting ready to put Chewie in handcuffs with Han and Luke as stormtroopers) with a slightly different storyline. Y'see, the Starwars movies are actually a tabletop roleplaying game in a world where Starwars does not exist...

Apparently someone has written a 108 page rebuttul of that Mr Plinkett review of Phantom Menace.

Someone was actually able to write that much in defence of Menace?!?!?!? The mind boggles.

To be fair, I don't agree with everything he says, but even then he's entertainingly wrong. He clearly knows his stuff in terms of film-making: look at the stuff about endless 'shot-reverse-shot' filming, in the Episode 3 review.
I also love the fact that, on top of describing what is wrong with the films, he also shows how to do it right, using the tongue-in-cheek 'plot arc' of the reviews.

Constructive criticism is always far better I feel. It shows you've at least properly thought about it, and are giving your (probably) educated view on the matter, which in turn gives more weight to your side of the argument.

Amy, thank you for the link to Darths and Droids. I've just got to the end of Episode 1. It was far better than the film. Funnier too. Brilliantly done. smiley - biggrin

The films have been playing on ITV for the last 5 weeks so I've now seen 5/6. What I would like to ask is:

Darth Vader was told that he had killed the pregnant Padme so how did he know that he was Luke's father?

I'm guessing that he started to get an idea at the end of New Hope, when he said "The Force is strong in this one." And then, once the Death Star was destroyed, he had a long TIE-fighter flight to a safe haven, giving him enough time to work it out.

And Del Toro would like to see Brad Bird take the helm...hmmm let's look at what he's directed and written...

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0083348/

Mostly animated films(Good ones!)...does this mean that Del Toro thinks the Star Wars films are cartoons? Well, based on the amount of CGI in the prequels he could be right!
