Anyone for NaJoPoMo?
paulh, vaccinated against the Omigod Variant Posted Oct 13, 2012
If I could be sure of having at least one entertainingly weird dream every night in November, I would write journals about each and every one of them. Last night, for instance, U dreamed that I came out of retirement to accept a library job in a quirky town in Wisconsin where people routinely dress in costumes and ride strange vehicles every day.

I will probably sign on for the November novel-writing. I'm getting some ideas as I write.

Right. I have added a roll of honour to the page. That's 15 people so far, not including deb and TC. No pressure...

I've decided I definitely don't have the time/inclination for NaNoWriMo this year so now I'm just waiting to see how NaJoPoMo will work. tbh I'll probably give it a miss if we go down the route of containing the whole month in one journal as I firmly believe that way madness & confusion lie.
The only argument I can recall against doing it the same way as last year is that if someone is subscribed to the journal of someone taking part they end up swamped with too many posts. Perhaps people could unsubscribe from these journals for November and resubscribe in December? Or just unsubscribe from any NaJoMoPo journals - last year they were headed up quite clearly, I think, so they were easy to spot. So it would just be a quick "unsubscribe" when you see "NaJoPoMo..." in the subject.

How about just letting people do it whatever way suits them best? There's no reason everything has to be done in a uniform way by everyone.
We don't need regulations for absolutely everything.

I'm up for trying this, although I might not have internet access for the entire month.

Welcome aboard, Herenna!
I must say, deb, that since we have not had anyone really say that they are against the whole one day one journal thing, ie the same as last year, I am inclined to go with that as the default option. But equally I am not against it if anyone wanted to use one of the other suggestions.
I do hope you do it!

Sol - can you post the A-number for the NaJoPoMo page and clarify this point - there is discussion on several threads about it at the moment.

Good point TC, I think we've probably reached as much consensus on the issue as we are going to.
NaJoPoMo's official hangout page, which I will update as soon as is in my name and also:

A page now updated. And since the default option is now the same as last year, I have taken the liberty of adding you too, deb.

Ooh, sneaky, Sol! Did you know I was on the verge of deciding I wouldn't be able to do it this year? Now though, since you've forced me in to it , I'll have to give it a go!
Better get thinking about subjects. I'm looking forward to it now I've (been) committed.

I won't be doing the NaJoPoMo quizzes this year. I simply haven't had the time to research original ones, and I don't see any point doing something substandard.
I'm sure you'll have other things to read
