So, now that you all know what I need, could I have some Quotes, please?

I'd be ever so grateful.

I work 26 hours a day trying to think of things that will be worth quoting. I don't nominate my own posts, because that would be tacky. As I wrack my brain trying to figure out who would be reading all the posts that are made at h2G2, I realize that the moderators would have to read a very large number of posts. Now,I know they have a busy enough life as it is with moderating, but do you suppose some of them might be interested in noting some of the more quotable posts?

Just an idea.smiley - smiley

I thought you were going to say that you don't quote your own posts, but nobody else writes anything good enough smiley - winkeye

That thought did occur to me, Nosebagbadger, but lots of other people write things good enough. In the heat of an overheated thread, I don't take the time to nominate them, though. Then I log off and go back to my drab, wretched life, and the opportunity is lost.

Ah good, I've succeeded in my hope that this thread will start self-generating its own posts - and if people come to the thread, than it generates even more QoTDs smiley - laugh

Perhaps the H2G2 artists could come up with a Torquemada smiley. Until then, a smiley - evilgrin smiley will have to do.

I'm a fool, but I'd rather be thought of as a jester.

Just Bob aka Robert Thompson, plugging my film blog cinemainferno-blog.blogspot.co.uk

Just a thought: perhaps, if you're really stuck for new quotes, you might introduce the odd fave from yesteryear? Having said that, this might be more effort than the recent ones.

You can call me TC

I found one for you Geggs. I'll never know if it gets to the front page, because I never look there. But I'll continue to send them. Actually, h2g2 people really are capable of producing a witty line a day between them, of this I am convinced. It's just a case of remembering to copy and paste, and send off that e-mail.

A fool is someone who believes a young horse is a fool.

A young horse can be a foal. Is that what you meant?

I was just checking, Nosebagbadger. I'm so prone to typos that i like to give people the benefit of the doubt until I'm sure about what they meant. smiley - smiley

I read too quickly, too. Force of habit, I guess. In graduate school I got into the habit of quickly scanning most books and articles.
