Came across this quote by Theodore Dalrymple - "When I am a pedestrian I am frequently astonished by the carelessness and selfishness of drivers. When I am driving I am frequently astonished by the carelessness and selfishness of pedestrians. Equally astonishing, of course, is the way I can change the behavior of people so profoundly by the mere act of getting in or out of a car."

Quite smiley - winkeye

>> it's a _very_ bad move to try and overtake a cyclist during the one or two seconds after they've set off... Cyclists tend to wobble at low speeds...<<

That's the whole point. The box gives you a way to get up to non-wobble speed before some idiot is trying to overtake you. Cyclists can take off faster when the light turns than cars, generally speaking.
