I'm thinking that maybe a mound of might be about right.
What's wrong? In my opinion, too damned many people have lost the humour, the fun, the quip, the wit, some crawled up their own measures of importance, and the bloody place needs to unwind maybe 6 or 8 twirls of the
Homes have changed, stuff was getting pretty damned stagnant at the last place. Not because of the host necessarily but just how things went. Since the whole shiffle and shuffle, there have been a lot of 5-diggies, and far more 6-diggies dropped around. It's beryond high time for the hangers-on of recent years to show the 'elders' there is a reason to hang around a little more.
So piffle, pah and booooo on culture and tradition, ... Let's have some damned FUN!

Calling on lil ol' me, ... Been too many years, I think I can still twirl about a small loungey-pub zone? Care to share a dance?

Mr 603's post about smiley culture was 160 and my reply was 161... a post 21 is when someone replies to post 20 of a longer thread, isn't it?

lil, do ya think someone ever found that load of keys ? That not so long ago causes a great AAAAARRRGGH! sorta thing?
Within a dozen posts, it was one helluva party that ran a thousand plus threads. THAT was the spirit then, people picked up on something, ran silly, and had fun.
Sure, there are always proper and intelligent talks in <./>ASK</.>, ...
But incidental fun just seems to be down to a very few small places. And that feels wrong

I think we need to form a community committee to decide on the proper usage of the term "Post 21".

Look what happened the last time we formed a committee?

Robert A Heinlein: Committee - a life form with 8 or more legs but no discernible intelligence. (paraphrase)
Pahhh again. Kick in some fun.

I have been hit and miss on here for the last couple of years because it lost the atmosphere it once had. You could join serious conversations and fun ones. People were always popping over to each others personal spaces to leave or message or read your journal. I built relationships with people and got to know the ins and outs of their lives. Hey I even got some presents sent me include some very nice cookies when I was s student.
Now most of my friends have left, I'm not in the in crowd and its not as fun as it was. I'm not sure why though.

Yes fluffykerfuffle, some people have theoretical reservations, but in practise it works rather well.

Dr.Z, were these some of the minutes from the committee meeting?
'The idea suggested has been put forward to a standing committee for due consideration of the salient points raised and a full cost analysis along with a full impact study added to which it was then deemed prudent to further test the theory and refer matters to a secondary committee for a full evaluation of the original idea with the amendments as prescribed by the first study given to the secondary committee upon which it would then go to the full committee who would recommend that the amendments be further amended and that the matter then be referred to the board chaired by the chairperson and the chairs of the three committee's at which point any recommendations and representations made can be evaluated and a final decision then made as to whether the ideas given in the first instance bear any resemblance to the idea now being proposed and in order to ascertain that, a further committee will be set up to look into how the original idea as stated, differs from the ideas now amended after the committee stages after which the matter will go before the board for a final decision as to whether the original idea stands or the amended ideas take precedence'

The kettle has been simmering a time, and what I see floating and twirling in the brew:
- the old home kinda ran out of steam, people and new stuff
- the ones still hanging and seen as groups and cliques (pronounced here as KLEEKS)
- the transitional time, no one really knowing what was up, down or sideways
- new site, a lot of well-known faces and names are now TPTB, rather than the one to three Beeb folks. Now it's a lot more personal
- some may think that they can dance footloose and fancy free of the BBC restrictions, some maybe think they are protected because they know folks of 'olde'
In the end, this is still a web-site of absolutely weird and wonderful people who have to get along somehow. And politely stay within boundaries of nature, attitudes and realationships that will be viable as an open and inviting site to the world. ALL ages can Google, so whether the admission bar allows under-16 or not, everyone in the entire world can read YOU.
