Who is Emma Thompson playing in the new film?

Well she did manage to play that over-zealous care-worker pretty well in the last series of Little Britain... never thought I'd feel that sorry for Andy, but that's what happened.
I agree, the scenes with Umbridge and Trelawney are going to be fun.
Going back to book 6, anyone else think that Voldemort might have made another Horcrux since he discovered that the diary was destroyed? Particularly since it's indicated that he murdered Amelia Bones personally?

I think if he has made another horcrux Rowling will maybe need another book to solve the problem (I mean an 8th)... don't really think so, but who knows?

I dont think there will be another Horcrux simply on the gorunds that there is to much story to do in one book anyhow. I dont expect any major new plot devices to be in the new book.
Bill-Fleur wedding
Get advice somehow from dumbledore
Someone harry care about die or nearly die
Find and destroy Horcruxs
Find out about snape one way or the other
Harry-Voldy final confrontation.
Basically that is how I see it.

What's this about Gary Oldman not being in the next film? Seems a little fishy to me, anybody know the latest?

I haven't heard that. How can they do the Order of the Phoenix without Sirius? Maybe they'll hire someone else.

Order of the Phoenix shows up as being in production & has 5 actors' names listed in the cast & no other ones. Also, OotP doesn't show up in Oldman's filmography. I must say I could live with Rufus Sewell though.

I'm still upset that Rik Mayall ended up on the cutting room floor.

Who was Rik Mayall oging to be?!?!?!

Emee, out from under the rock Posted Feb 7, 2006
They'll have to have Peeves in OotP. The Weasley's leaving school wouldn't be the same otherwise.

Man Rik Mayall was Peeves and they cut him out?!?!?!?!?!!?
That bites.

Yep!... From PS/SS... excised Peeves from the entire series it seems. I'm sure since they haven't brought him in yet, they never will.
Although if anyone wants to get an idea of how good he would have been, just watch "Drop Dead Fred".
He was probably typecast anyway.
