I'm another browser. I put a link to the post on my Personal space and even tried to talk someone into doing a second paper but I am sure that I would miss it if it was gone.

JulesK Posted Jun 13, 2005
Have just found this thread (it must've been active when I was away and popped back up because Shazz is ill).
Firstly, get well soon, Shazz
Secondly, I wanted to add my name to the pile of people who read the Post every week, in case you're counting. I also put a link to it in my ACE message and there's the banner on my PS (gosh, what a creep !).
If it had to go fortnightly I would still read it, the only difference would be the Post team having more time (and having to remember which week I was on, although the aforementioned 'delivery service' would sort that out ).
I haven't got any extra new thoughts to add to the suggestions, just wanted to make my vote count, as it were.
Jules

I think we all echo that thought.
Anyway, gang, with Shazz poorly, I propose we do something positive and stop *talking* about sorting out the Post and get on with *doing* it. I've asked Jimster to let us put an edition of the Post out in Shazz's absence, not for this week but the 23rd (think I've got me dates right).
I don't think it should be too difficult if we split the work. Is anyone interested?

Well IM not sure exactly how Shazz does it?
I know she normally just goes onto my page and picks out a Snippet, then changes the number and submits in it the regulers column.
There is a choice of 2 right now, (Novelty Values & Motoring,)
So if anyone is making an edition up, they are welcome to pop in and select one
If thers is anything else you think I might be able to do, just give me a shout on my page
Smudger,

"I see the production of The Post every Quik. Most of the entries appear out of the blue, they are submitted by email, only some are already available online before they are 'lifted'.
GuideMLed and pre published entries take some fifteen minutes, emailed half an hour or more.
One of the things taking much time is the upload of images, the cartoons and photographs included in the travel logs and meets. (those entries appear once an hour).
I think the average Post production takes nearly twelve hours (including lunch brakes).
This is excluding the archiving as all pages are sorted into their respective lists. "

Well, I think we can worry about the archiving later (didn't somebody volunteer to be the Post Archivist?).
Do you have any more specific details as to how the Post goes from being a collection of articles in various formats to the socratic wonder we marvel at each Thursday?

Hi Post Team, I normally send my stuff by email to Shazz, in text format. I asked her whether she wanted tme to guideml it, she never said.
So to save time, I will do my columns (Science Matters and Human Rights Watch) in GuideML, basing them on the columns which have already gone out.
So do you want me to email the text to someone or to create them myself on my PS?

I'm not really here Posted Jun 13, 2005
It looks like I haven't got any work this week, so if needed I'll upload the articles. Having worked on the receiving end I know how the named entry works, and the how the pictures work. I'm still on the Post Yahoo group, so that's probably the best place for people to email their work to.
Shazz keeps it under wraps coming up the day so that people don't read the articles before she's ready I guess. I can't promise to work into the wee smalls of Wednesday though, but we should be able to get something together for Thursday.
Unless someone else wants to volunteer?

Hi Mina
Are you thinking of this Thursday or next? Cos getting organised for this week could be tricky. Unfortunately I am not on the group, can someone provide me with details?
Nice to see so much enthusiasm though...

Well, I thought people were thinking of this week - I can't guarentee that I won't be working next week.
If there is anything that people have ready for this week, we could maybe put a shortened version up? If not then if people do what they can as soon as they can I can get as much done as possible before next week.
I'll just go and harangue one of the Moderators of yahoo group to see if he'll either set me up as a mod, or let people in for us. The group looks like it hasn't been used much lately, but I'm not giving my email address out.

Well, long before all this Post fiasco started, I had decided to try and resurrect my regular article again. Whether or not we choose to go fortnightly, I will do so anyway--I simply don't have the time anymore like I did in high school to do this weekly. I'll be e-mailing my article to Shazz's e-mail address probably tonite. I know tehre wont be a Post next week, but hopefully it'll fit into the following week's edition. I sure hope you get better soon, Shazz--all this talk of The Post made me miss writing for it!
