There's a hole in the Universe, apparently, with absolutely nothing in it.

I find that quite intrigueing. Why would there be a 'black spot' in any region of the Universe?
Perhaps, whilst the 'Big Bang' went off, someting was sheltering that spot. It would have been a lot smaller back then but through natural dissentation it has grown a lot larger?
Who knows? But it is interesting

My Mum used to live n the Town End Farm estate. From what I gather it was always a tad rough.
On a lighter note, and of special interest to some of the h2g2 community. Well, one of us anyway:

Me too.
Assiduously arranging the beetles in piles; carrion beetles in this pile, click beetles in that pile, longhorn beetles over there, ground beetles over here, leaf beatles & scarab beetles and weevils all in their place.
All the better to consume them in an equitable manner.

Not so much the story that caught my eye but the headline. Some headlines have a effect that means you just *have* to read the story to find out what the headline's about.

Whilst on the subject of food, looks like you had all better start considering vegetarianism, i am OK 'cos i already am! But seems like the wheat is now being converted to fuel cars & sold to rich Chinese, so there may not be enough left to feed to animals.

On an unrelated note:
I just saw the father of the victim of an RTA interviewed on telly. The chap that caused the RTA has been released from prison after serving his manslaughter/reckless driving (can't remember which) sentence and is going back to work as a professional footballer. I can't understand why the interview took place: he's done his time and all the interviewee said was, basically, how upsetting it all is. OF COURSE IT'S UPSETTING! But it really has nothing to do with us and certainly isn't news.
