Do You find Body Hair Sexy or a Turnoff
E G Mel Posted Apr 15, 2004
Ok where do I start:
Me: Epilate legs, underarms and down there. Pluck eyebrows. Forearms are left 'as is', though they are a little thicker than I like. Am seriously considering Laser hair removal if only to reduce the hassle.
My preferences - I like my men to be non-ape-like. I don't like hairy backs or chests, beards or 'MonoBrows' though hair under the arms and down there is perfectly acceptable as is leg hair.
Though as I say, this is a preference and not the be all and end all. Though I have to admit I prefer a nice smooth man to any George Clooney stubble

I pluck the occasional hair from my eyebrows (particularly the ones that seem to want to head North in a Dennis Healey-type way).

ohmygod! I forgot about monobrows! Just as bad as moustaches (imho). In fact, they are more or less the same thing except in different locations. Ick.

I pluck my eyebrows, if only because otherwise I look like Liam Gallagher. Most men I know have tidier eyebrows than me .

What do I like in others?
Hate moustaches.
Can just about put up with a beard.
Hair on head - not bothered, as long as the owner accepts reality and doesnt try a combover or bad wig
Body hair - prefer to be on the minimal side. There's nothing nicer than running your hands over smooth skin.
For myself:
Pluck eyebrows.
Bleach moustache if and when it gets a bit obvious.
Shave underarms.
Pluck the occasional hair that appears on my nipples.
Bikini wax if I think it's going to be (in)visible
...but I'm about the only woman I know who plucks her leg hair
I know, I know, you're all going to say "What! Surely that takes for ever!!!" but let's look at the alternatives:
Shaving - quick and easy, can be done daily, but risks cuts and scars, and is stubbly in between times.
Waxing - nice result....for about a week. then you have to have 5 weeks growth before you can re-do it.
Plucked legs is a perpetual process, but the hairs that are left are soft and fine, and not nearly so obvious as shaved/ waxed ones.
Why do hairs grow back differently depending on their harvesting method?

"Plucked legs is a perpetual process, but the hairs that are left are soft and fine, and not nearly so obvious as shaved/ waxed ones."
Invest in an epilator, It basically plucks but does it a damn sight quicker than you can!
It's a machine with spinning discs, these discs trap the hairs and pull them out at the root. You can use it everyday if you feel the need (ie if you have hairs all at different stages) or you can use it as often as you would wax.
It's less messy than waxing and doesn't strip off a layer of skin so any rashes you experience will go down quicker and you can keep your tan longer
Have I sold it to you yet

Hmm, body hair What do I like.... on women, I'm not overly fond of shaved legs, gets too stubbly, and I prefer legs and arms as 'nature intended' Arm pit hair, No preference... 'down there', fine with it as it is, long as it isn't too* much of a forest Me, I 'trim' my armpits about once a year at start of summer (its just cleaner in the hot summer), legs, hairy, chest, not aht hairy, Face, half unshaven most of the time eyebrows... in need of a pluck I recon But I wouldn't exactly 'choose a partner' based on their hairyness or otherwise, its not a big thing really... And I do prefer more of teh 'natural'

I don't really have the option of being to fussy when it comes to women. Generally i don't mind body hair on women as long as they don't look like a Russian shotputter (though sometimes i feel i'm going to cough up a furball in the morning)
as for myself i've got quite a hairy chest, legs and 'down there' but i don't have a hairy back so i'm not quite in the Sean Connery/Robin Williams division.

So, how does trimming underarm hair affect it? Does it make it grow faster? Thicker?
One of the annoying things about leaving my armpits natural is that pretty much all women's clothing is designed for women who shave i.e. it fits alot closer than men's. I often now buy men's tops if I am wanting something fitting, but of course it doesn't have the same tailoring. It's good for t-shirts and sports tops though.

Not really bothered about hair on women except for; stubble, moustaches and down-below baldness. Must say though, what IS it with goatee beards on blokes? That seriously p***es me off for some reason.

Goatees are quite tricky, I think. They either work very well or *not at all*.

Az, I'm afraid we'll have to disagree here. GOATEES ARE EVIL AND SHOULD BE REMOVED BY WAXING!
Must go and find what's wrong with Americans thread cos they're the worst offenders......

Trimming arm pit hair doesn't seem to make it grow faster or thicker... just helps avoid sweeting quite so much in the summer Anyone want any parts of their body shaving? I'll get me coat

At a valentines party Liz shaved my cobblers to raise money for the youth section. (We hadnt planned it but it was "one of those nights") Well she half shaved them becuase with an evenings under her belt and no glasses on she was making a bit of a mess down there I decided that was the best thing to do
Another couple of guys had their heads shaved too with the same set of clippers what annoyed me was that they got mentioned in the next news letter and I didnt
one love

Did you have to prove they had been shaved, blicky?
Reminds me of when I had an operation and had to be totally shaved 'down there'. Felt like a porn star afterwards (well, except for the stitches). Sure was itchy growing out . . .

Sorry, Pedro7, but I just have to ask a question about ... goatees.
Why do some of them have a vaguely (or not so vaguely!)....
er, "pubic" look to them?
Pardon my ignorance (at my advanced age, yet) but ... is it perhaps
intentional??
Just asking....

I like men lots, apart from when they grow suspicious goatees
I find it most disturbing when the goatee hair is a different colour to their head hair (or indeed hair elsewhere). A guy I know has very pale blond head hair, but his goatee is mostly ginger .

SpaceCadette, I can't help but think that it's because the wearers are d***heads. I know, it's irrational but I can't help it. <smiley shudder>
