>Ah! Forgive me. So that's the question you meant to ask. It only looked like you were calling him a liar when you were actually calling him daft.<

No I wasn't calling him either. I just asked for some evidence about what is commonly asked on EO forms. I was genuinely surprised that he had to fill in such a question that defined himself as an atheist, as I had never come across such a question. And then he confirmed that that is exactly commonly the case.

I then went off onto a tangent about how I was used to other questions which might define me in a negative way for a particular job, and just used my common sense and either ignored them or lied.

As for rudeness to other posters who think and try to post in a different way to you, Edward...smiley - laugh

Having invested far too much time and energy in reading the last 50 posts I feel it necessary to support Effers initial response to HI's quotation from the rejection letter.

The quote may well be fact, but it rings as more a paraphrase of whatever politically incorrect statements were actually made. I don't wonder Effers wanted to see proof. I don't believe it either.

I find it hard to believe any institution would go on record with what was quoted. Content aside, it is not particularly well written or polite and therefore less than credible from anyone posing as a human resources professional.

As for the attacking Effers for trying to express that doubt...

Sorry to interrupt, but, I wonder if Prof. Myers has seen this:

Now that would make desecration simple.smiley - smiley

>> Believe that if you will. <<

I thank you for the liberty.
And now if you would, please extend the same courtesy to
Effers. And possiblY also apologise for calling her 'rude'
in merely doubting the accuracy of HI's quote. It is quite
questionable and I thought Truth was important to people
in this thread.

Of course we all exaggerate a bit but I simply cannot
believe (hey, you said I could) that any institution would
allow its representative to reply in writing to a job applicant
and call him a 'godless homosexual', even if by his own admission
he is.

I can verify your claim, anhaga. Yes I have written proof.
Of course I can't share it with anyone.
Y'all just have to take my word for it.

The way I see it, is that theists/believers etc call them what you will...come to this thread and get regularly pulled up on the issue of 'evidence' and 'hard fact' about what they say...and it only seems fair to me that we hold everyone to account made about certain claims. Yes of course we can't prove every little detail about our own personal experiences, but HI made the claim about what *EO forms commonly ask*, and not just as a one off personal experience thing.

But if double standards are to be de rigeur here about generalised claims...not just personal experience stuff, then, well...say no more.

On matters of fact: Can anyone interpret the fact that the large prime factor of U14075709 in base 39 is 3D4UDUZHE?

I offer my apologies. I completely misinterpreted what I now understand to have been a semantic discussion of the word 'commonly'.

Or 'common', rather.

What a lot of fuss over nothing I've caused.

Effers;England.

No I don't think it's a lot of fuss about *nothing*. HI says it *commonly* features on EO's forms. If that's true, in the way he descibes it, that sounds appalling.
