That's one of the things I totally dig about a new relationship, the chance to get introduced to new people, places, and things. It's also fun to introduce her to some of the stuff I'm into. Sometimes i's crap, but often it opens up new avenues.

Yes. I get most of my new hobbies from my mates. Whenever I get bored with my old hobbies I get a new boyfriend! Heh.
No, not really. I wish it were that easy. But I do tend to get excited when I'm with someone new who does something I've never tried. So far I've taken up guitar, cartooning, biology, filmmaking, comic books, performance art, and tattoos from the guys I've dated. Some day I'm hoping to find a guy who does glassblowing who's also good in bed! Heh.

'Tis the nature of things to be messed up. Otherwise, we'd have nothing to complain about.

My husband gave me two Valentine's gifts today. This morning he gave me a Wile E. Coyote bean-bag toy and a RoadRunner bean bag toy. (Wile E. Coyote is my favourite cartoon character.) Then, this evening when I got home, he gave me a large box of chocolates. I know the second gift is kind of boring, but I had mentioned some time before Christmas that I could only think of two occasions when he'd given me chocolates in the 11 years we've been together. I guess he was trying to make up.

It's just the number one-four in the month two that some people decided to attach meaning to. Relax, and have a nice cold virtual beer, on me.

Thanks, I needed that.

Sheesh, vday was hell. I myself got punished on that glorious day and couldnt use the computer to waste my single life. I got some candy from a friend from work, my daddy got me some(chocolate, theres nothing better) and my ex and I hung out. The only reason it sucked was the fact that I got punished, really. Otherwise, I survived. Greyrose, don't worry. I talked to guys, and some of them say that they refuse to give vday gifts to people even if they love em to death, its just the overall suckiness of the holiday. Cheer up. I have worse things to look forward to...like my birthday. Those are even more depressing...

Greyrose, I also think that jbliqemp may be a keeper...

lol. Maybe. You just haven't seen my bad points yet. I'm notoriously passive-aggressive, violently liberal, and have the understanding that allows me to know that the first two points, though contradictory, are both true, and I refuse to back down from either.

Ok, maybe slightly contradictory. On the passive-aggressive/violence scale.

I agree with you 100%, Rat.
But, about my stupid boy, I've just been really down for the last week and the feeling that he doesn't like me is stronger than ever. I hope it's just me, because I think we could be really good together, if he could just get over whatever it is that's bothering him. The "wall", you might say.
I have to get to class now, but if either of you (or anyone else for that matter) want to hear more, I'll tell all, since my RL friends are sick of hearing it I'm sure.

Maybe a new forum though. This one's getting a little long to load.
(well, they're all a little long with this computer...)

What I want to know is, why is the holiday specifically set aside for love (however commercialized) named after St. Valentine? From what I remember, he had his hands cut of and was thrown in a dungeon, until they stoned him to death. That is, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, not particulary romantic in my opinion.
