Intern,
"wo think that useing a loop hole is illigal
"but people use loopholes all the time a lot use loopholes in the law to get people off from going to jail etc etc so becouse they use the loopholes to they advantage they to are in the wrong????"
That's a law in the legal system. We're talking about a loophole which affects machines and services here. Different thing. And, just for your information. Usage of that loophole may not in itself be illegal, but it constitutes Theft of Service.

Well, I'm just telling you. It's not Jim's responsibility, I'm sure he doesn't have the time, Telewest have acted upon being informed that it's not good for their current setup of machines and resources, so it's highly unlikely that they'll reinstate access anyway.
You can ask Jim to contact Telewest, but I wouldn't expect him to be able to set the running of h2g2 aside for a few minutes while he communicates with Telewest the issue which they've already closed. If they were to re-open h2g2 to digibox users, by the way, do you have any idea how much they'd have to invest in order to offer it on a reliable service? They'd have to be able to provide more bandwidth for a start. It's just not a viable option. Pity, though it is.

aka,
<>
Presumably this was not your opinion when you were using a digibox for h2g2 access yourself.
<>
Oh dear, and now a martyr to the cause. In fact the right thing would have been to mind your own business.

Tough.
No amount of tapdancing is going to convince anyone that you didn't have a personal vendetta going on. Meanwhile, if you find the postings here repetitive then why continue responding to them?
I have certainly not noticed any variety in your postings.

>>anyway, for what it's worth, and i don't think it much as this thread has produced all it can, the beginning of it all came from the statement in posting 23 of this F615?thread=375405&post=4802116#p4802116

thanks creachy. I think that link makes at least some of the motivation for contacting Telewest clear.

Creachy. I re read post 93, to me it reads h2g2 indeed did inform telewest of the illegal access to the site. This is the view aka has, or am I reading into that post wrong?

Azahar,
"Presumably this was not your opinion when you were using a digibox for h2g2 access yourself."
Um. No. If you had read the backlog of the other threads you would know that I'd already said: I hadn't realised how wrong it was when I was using it myself. What makes the digibox users who continued after being told how wrong it was worse than me, is that they did just that: continued to abuse the 'magic e-mail' flaw even after knowing what they were doing was wrong.
I've already said that.
"Oh dear, and now a martyr to the cause. In fact the right thing would have been to mind your own business."
No. Wrong.
The right thing would have been to do what I did.
The popular thing would have been to mind my own business.
Why are you having difficulty understanding?

Zyrak, I can't help but notice your posts don't add much to this conversation. Either shut up or come up with something of substance to say. I've an e-mail address where you can send your insults and personal abuse. It's on my Space.

Really? And now you have seen the light? Please.

Oh, I understand alright. You and your friend chose to disturb and upset people's lives for no good reason. As 'causes' go, this one seems pretty lame. Or are you starting small and working your way up? If so, you have nowhere to go but up it would seem.
I wonder what your next great cause to save humanity will be.

Oh, so he *is* leaving this thread. That's nice. And it looks like he's found a little friend. That's nice too.
So, in the wake of these sad delusions of self-importance having been played out at the expense of others . . . well, there's really nothing left to say. Is there?
