Yup, it is. But since then, we watched 'The Empire Strikes Back' the other night. It was an old rented videotape that had been almost loved to death, so some of the scenes were barely visible, but it was a lot of fun! However, I had to give it a C overall, because imho, it lacked originality.. There were some terribly clunky lines, though there was also one brilliant one - "Laugh it up, fuzzball!" (Han to Chewbacca.)

Yes, on balance, I think it did... It certainly didn't seem that old, and it was far more exciting than 'A New Hope'. The best moments were Luke's fight against Darth Vader - genuinely suspenseful for someone seeing it for the first time (which we weren't, but still...).

Do you ever see the episode of the simpsons where homer comes out of the cinema with marge after seeing it. Then walks past a big line of people waiting to see it and says "wooo who'd have thought that Darth vader would be lukes father" classic

Yes, I think I have seen that Simpsons thing - I am surprised Homer wasn't lynched!
Bespin is amazing, and so is Hoth - the bit with the tauntaun being sliced open is authentic 'ick', and I can see why it is your favourite. IMHO, 'A New Hope' is big snooze, but I am starting to reassess 'Empire'.

Surely the best line in the film - and the best line in the whole saga - is in the carbonite freezing chamber, when you first hear THAT breathing... and then you hear THAT voice whisper...

"The Force is with you, young Skywalker....... but you are not a Jedi yet."

Gives me chills, that line does.
