I'm really, it was a while back but it still niggles.

Its all that aint it the bloke's should have there condom on plus where do the women get off with telling the bloke its ok im on the jack and jill .Broken homes are the cause of most of todays problems kid's don't want to learn as they come from such a problem back ground it is time the goverment got tougher .

Got tougher on whom, and how?

By learning sex education letting women now there is a pill and the men now there condoms untill there married would be a start now i don't think kids at school or infact some adults now this well or there would no be men today with kids they did not now they even had . tougher laws i say .

The scope for generalisation with this question is vast. Every single-parent family is different. The vast majority are the results of something going wrong. It's naive to ignore statistics, but this is surely a case where we as a society should be trying to help rather than judge.

Why not find all the jack the lad's and make them pay for there 5 mins of fun .

You've got to remember, some of these jacks the lads have no place anywhere near a family. Sometimes it's best if the mothers are single, and the child is without a father.

How can it be for the best the kid need's a dad as much as a mum for gods sake.

And if the dad is a drunk, a drug user, violent?

Hypothetically, then:

are you saying that if the child has, (say) an alcoholic father, who beats and abuses both his wife and the children, gets the household into debt, and is hell on earth to live with then those children and their mother are better off staying together as a familly unit?

If your answer is yes, then perhaps you'd care to explain your reasening

Maybe a bit of anecdotal evidence will help you.

I knew a girl* who was married with a kid to a guy who beat seven bells out of her. He stabbed her with pool cues, burnt her with an iron, broke her nose, permanently damaged her eyesight and skinned the family dog alive in front of the 4 year old kid. He stole and pawned everything of value in the house. One day, her 4 year old said "Why don't we go away mummy".

What would you have said to him?

There's a story behind every single-parent family. There is no law that could be worded to cover every eventuality. Every case should be treated on it's own.

oh oh womens lib now eh what if the woman is the drunk or the druggy dont be silly of course they cant bring up a kid in that set up far from it i'm aganist drug's and women beaters i'm the first to say that a man who hits out at a woman is not a man but infact a coward its those kind that give the good a bad name as in not all men are bad just as not all women are .

Bottom line the druggy or the drunk should still pay there way for there the dad or mum .

Nobody is saying they shouldn't, but that's not what's behind every single-parent family. By highlighting one type it ignores the rest.

What about widows?

Yep, they should still be made to make a financial contribution,as long as that doesn't mean they get to find out where the ex-partner is now living, and causes them even more grief.

No-body is getting all women's lib, there are bad men, and bad women, bad fathers and bad mothers. As SWL said, each case is going to be different, so one set of laws won't cover every case.

I also know i woman who was married to a man that beat her she left him but went back and back more fool her .

ID start in school's learing kid's what true love mean's its not all about looks but what is inside that counts how many today can truely say the love there men or women and not there bank cards etc

Sometimes, if the person you love is the person that abuses you, beats you, and tells you no-body else will ever want you, you can come to believe their propaganda.
Often these women that return to abusive partners have been brainwashed by the manipulative little swine, so you shouldn't really say 'More fool them'.
