Ivan the Terrible's lifelong infestation with pin worms (in the round worm group) may have contributed to his legendary attitude.

(That rather pinched aspect to his features you can see in portaits of Ivan the Terrible is symptomatic.)

Effective treatments for the problem were just beginning to penetrate to Europe from the New World in his time, but were rather slow to reach Russia, and apparently came there by way of Turkey.

Massive infestations with worms of vartious kinds were still considered medically normal as late as the pre-WW II era.

There is currently a movement headed by a GP in the UK to get people with Coeliacs to infest themselves with hook worms as they can reduce the patient's intolerance to wheat. Oops, sorry, that could be useful.

I honestly didn't recognize her in Chamber of Secrets. I knew she looked familiar but I couldn't place her. I know her mostly from Hamish MacBeth and Trainspotting.

She also appeared in an episode of Doctor Who. The episode was called Love and Monsters and had Peter Kay as the monster (called an Absorbaloff).
