I knew that macaques spent a lot of time in water - they like to sit in hot pools to keep warm in winter - but I didn't know they could swim. I'd read that primates, other than man, can't swim because the distribution of body fat is wrong. Perhaps I should have said that man is the only *ape* that can swim, 'cos I'm fairly sure that chimpanzees, gorillas and orang utans can't.

My knowledge of macaques comes from about two minutes of watching some nature show on tv. So you're probably right.
The Arabian horse has one less vertebra in its spine than all other breeds of horses, resulting in a shorter neck and back.
