ah, have to say that honda diesel ad is one that gets me reaching for the remote asap! Mind you, the dairylea light with the floating cow that swims across the sky is quite funny.

OK, the BT broadband ad, where the band turn up for "the download gig". Why are all their instruments and equipment tiny? What's that all about?

I think it's suppose to represent MP3 virgins selecting low quality versions of downloadable media because they don't know what they're doing.

designmonkey AKA George The Gay Hippo Posted Jan 26, 2005
They seem to be inferring that music downloads through dial-up are of inferior quality to downloads using broadband, It's for the idiots I suppose, as anyone who knows anything about computers knows a file is a file no matter how long it takes to download.

truly irritating dutch adverts are the tv commercials in which "people" tell you what they saved when they took a loan by a company named "thiswillcostyouafortunebutwebedammnedifwetellyouso!" or any other random name..
Also these commercials have these washed up celebrities that can't act in them..
Man, how handy the remote is!

Ok, I haven't noticed any postings about this (but could have missed them):
Crazy frog.
WTF? Has this bit of animation (and noise) been created solely for the advert which then creates a fad around the character in the advert, so they can sell the soundtrack of the advert to kids as ringtones?
And WHY does it have visible genitals?

Oh yes! The frog is RREEEAAAALLLLLY annoying! And now there's the chicken too (although it's less annoying than the frog!)

Re: crazy frog, no I don't think it was created just to sell the ringtone, as Jonnie Walker made it famous (to radio 2 listeners, at least) long before the ads started.

Deb Posted Jan 26, 2005
I thought I was the only person in the world who doesn't get how "funny" that crazy frog is. Various family members crowded round my brother's phone pointing and laughing and I'm thinking "I must be so out of touch, I just don't get it".
So glad not to be alone.

Another annoying advert is the one for the 'Eargasm' ring tone... I mean, why would anybosy want their phone to sound like it's on the receiving end of an enthusiastic seeing-to.

Is there a GOOD ringtone advert?
And why do people feel the need to have 3 ringtones a week sent automatically to their phone?
I hate my mobile!!

I only want one ringtone on my mobile (I've finally given in) and that's the poly of Carcass' Reek of Putrefaction... partly because it'll allow me to have revenge on all those people who bombard me with ringtones based on the lastest chart 'sensation' but mostly because it's ace.

designmonkey AKA George The Gay Hippo Posted Jan 26, 2005
It's fair enough to buy a ringtone of a tune you like, what I'm tring to say is that why do certain people want sooo many ringtones? and they're always rubbish tunes anyway. I think they must be selling to the chav demographic.

People are strange. One minute they're worrying about conforming with the herd, the next minute they're trying to show how individual they are.
