And good luck.
You guys are the ones who made h2g2, and clung to it. Without you, there's no telling what "Auntie Beeb" would have already done to it. You did your best to keep the shreds of h2g2 together, bucking the system, cajoling it, pleading with it. You're all that's left of hootoo, and even then, many who made it what it was (pre-beeb) have gone on to less (or more) strenuous pastures.
You all have put up with a lot of complaining from me, but I want you to know you're all s in my eyes. 'Twas never you whom I disparraged in.

So then the first bids are in for the adopt an Italic scheme:
Values as yet unknown
Mort is bidding for Sam
and from the other thread I do believe
Whisky is bidding for Abi
When I get some official values I'll decide whether they are valid and we can fully open the flood gates!

Rats, I was going to bag him for the Ladies of the thread.
Just make sure he doesn't go out without a warm scarf on chilly days.

Oh I'm going to be in trouble when they get back

P.s the whole point of bidding is that you can out do each other so it's not one researcher to one Italic

Well, as the originator of the Adopt-an-italic idea I suppose I ought to put my bid in
I bid for Mina cos she's scary and I want someone to scare people away from my house.
Does the Mighty Mark count as well?
