Some relationship psychology on H2....

Situation:
One person dumps another. But the dumper tells the dumpee they still wan't to sleep with them.
Any thoughts on this? It's seems to be quite common. Who's using whom?

Is the dumper a man, by any chance?

The above hyperthetical situation seems to be existing merely for convience, such as: "Can we have the sex without all that tedious money spending and not actually speak to each other"!!!

It's very common for people who've broken up to sleep together afterwards.
Not very fair on the dumpee though. The dumper still wants to get rocks off and a bit of human contact, but without the hassle.

Call me an old-fashioned gal but I believe sex shouldn't just be some sort of meaningless physical exercise. And that's what it seems the dumper wants. He/she would be just as well having a w**k - and a lot kinder to the dumpee. Unless, of course, the dumpee is into meaningless physical exercise as well and can cope with the emotional turmoil.

It depends on how the relationship ended, and the mental state of both people.
I have a couple of friends who have always said that if I ever wanted casual sex, no strings attached, that (unless they were attatched, of course) to give them a call. That calls for a specific viewing of both friendship and sex. You have to make sure that these views are the same as yours!

Don't do it!
Ok nothing against people who go out and have casual sex, but some people pay money to do that sort of thing. You'll feel used, cheap and dirty.

No! I never have, I was illustrating the point. It's the mindset of some people that can do that. Everyone is different.
Personally, sex is a lot more than personal gratification, it's a way of expressing love. You can't do that casually.

I never implyed that you did do it.
Just some people do have casual sex and i didn't want them to think i was been a old grandma or anything. Not that im old.
You are right though, love isn't a casual thing that you can throw about.

I haven't been in this situation for a while myself, but I've heard about this quite often and I've heard the term 'buck buddies' (or more colourful words to that effect) a few times.
My current relationship is stable (if there's such a thing) so hopefully there won't be any dumpers or dumpees for the forseable.
