DA ; Simply Vicky: Don't get pithy with me! Posted Aug 26, 2003
At school, I recited a rhyme to the effect that:
The common cormorant, or shag/lays eggs inside a paper bag,
and I won some kind of competition or other.]
Two questions:
An Australian tree?
Does your name make anyone think of carpet? Or the other?
(Okay, that's 3 questions...)

Wow, I wish I could do that. The last time I was really interesting everyone else present was drunk.

Re growing more interesting: Jimmy Buffett says becoming witty and charming is the first stage of drunkenness (or at least you think you are).

Existential Elevator Posted Aug 27, 2003
But staying in context, I named myself this mainly because I lurked for months before joining and decided a direct Hitchhiker's quote would be funny. Well, it was either that or Zaphoid's Third Arm, but then I /really/ would have everyone thinking I'm a bloke...

Odo Posted Aug 27, 2003
Odo – well that’s for Bishop Odo who was William the conquers half brother. Because he was a priest he wasn’t allowed to spill another human’s blood, so when he rode into battle he fought with a large wooden club. I was nicknamed Bishop Odo by various members of my form during my first year at secondary school and the name stuck to me up until I reached the sixth form.
The Bishopness bit came after I went to the Birmingham hootoo meet earlier this year and a couple of researchers were surprised that I was actually female.
The Bassaleg bit – well that’s a tower where I’m teaching a band to ring.
Bit of a long one that.

HarpoNotMarx (((2*1)^6)-6-(2*8)=42 Posted Aug 27, 2003
Harpo is a nickname, corruption of my surname.
Not Marx, 'cos Harpo Marx was Silent.
Groucho is on my personal space to remind me of his surreal lines
The rest is my 42ism
