I notice the high pitched whine that TV sets make.

I know when there is a TV on in a house as i walk in(even if the sound is muted, and i can't see the thing).

So far i've only ever recieved "i'll just placate him by nodding and pretending i know what he means" type reactions from people when i tell them thissmiley - erm

Is it just me?

No,

I used to be able to 'feel' VDU's before the MPRII agreement or whatever it was came into being, actually very painful, causing nausea and loss of balance - but OK since then

TV's I can only _just_ feel

What's the "MPRII agreement " ? Some sort of legislation?

Have to admit, i'm not so aware of 'hearing' TV's so much these days- it's either that i'm losing the upper range of my hearing (natural with age), or i don't notice any more, or modern TV's are made differently...

But this Monitor i'm in front of now is making one HELL of a whiney racket Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

No.
I have noticed a couple sets doing that.
Had one ,got better after it had been on a while, worse with age (tv)teehee. To me it's a milder sound than the huge electrical towers, with higher pitch.

I have 2 dogs,one dog heard it smiley - dog & reacted.
He is more sensitive to noises than the other or at least you can tell with him.

I can't hear the monitors or TV whine, but I can hear the 'silent' alarms that most jewelry stores and the like have. It not only drives me nuts, but it really hurts, too.

I don't know if anyone else gets this, but when I'm trying to thread a needle I get a mega frustrated, irritated, impatient feeling. It's hard to describe, but it kinda makes my teeth hurt too.

I can hear electrical devices.
I notice rumblings in tape machines, whines in electric clocks, the pitches that VCR in my TV emits, valves in older motorcars, squeaks in shoes, the noises in the wheels of shopping carts.

Drives my spousal unit and child up the wall. I can hear so much that they can't.

When I was a child, I used to be distracted by every noise in the classroom and the neighborhood. I could hear the banging and shouting in the cafeteria. I could hear the other teachers. I could hear the balls in the gym. I could hear my pencil on the paper!

As I've gotten a bit older and a bit deafer and picked up some tinittus along the way, it seems to make things sharper. I have developed various coping mechanisms and often keep earplugs with me, but it still seems that the world is full of noise pollution.
Makes me so frustrated sometimes that I yell.
Like a drill instructor.
Then I deafen myself for a few hours.

I was reading on an Asperger's site this evening about a child who couldn't stand to have her nails cut because of the sensation in her hands and feet and the sound of the clipper.

I know a thirteen year old that when he was five or so had a very serious emetic reaction to stuff on his skin. He needed skin lotion and sun blocker and he ralphed every time.
Certain other substances affected him similarly. There was a goop-like stuff that the Nickolodeon TV people used to market. It was kind of like a weirdly colored stiff foam that you could manipulate like Silly Putty.
It was this child's birthday and his mother was telling some of the other mommies about his problems with texture and stuff, and she specifically mentioned this product.
Oops! One of the mommies admitted that that was the gift she'd brung.
A frantic search was made among the presents.
It turned out to be the very one that the child was unwrapping. He took one look at the carded bubble pack, set it down, looked at his mom and leaned forward...

Fortunately we were outside and his mom was prepared.
