"I'm interested in the old english poem "Juliana" ... Can you send me the link?"
I know you're joking, but you asked for it:

Ah yes, I remember, jazzedupcurry asked about my day.
It was fine, a little frustrating when I way on my way out the door after struggling for quite a while to get the kids ready only to realize my car keys were in my husband's coat pocket with him at work. So I was house bound. But the sun was shining and I had electricity, so it was a good day. How was your day?

Okay folks, now I'm here, I am content to just sit and smile.
Still learning what all the little faces do (some actually take you somewhere!) I tried to figure out "Latest Post" and pushed complaint and cancelled BUT, kicked myself right out of Here, too.
Chief Gordon Lightfoot was sick a little while ago and I had to go hunt up the Railroad Triology:
Canadian Railroad Trilogy (Sunday Concert) 6:50
There was a time in this fair land when the railroad did not run
When the wild majestic mountains stood alone against the sun
Long before the white man and long before the wheel
When the green dark forest was too silent to be real
But time has no beginnings and hist'ry has no bounds
As to this verdant country they came from all around
They sailed upon her waterways and they walked the forests tall
Built the mines the mills and the factories for the good of us all
And when the young man's fancy was turnin' in the spring
The railroad men grew restless for to hear the hammers ring
Their minds were overflowing with the visions of their day
And many a fortune won and lost and many a debt to pay
For they looked in the future and what did they see
They saw an iron road runnin' from sea to the sea
Bringin' the goods to a young growin' land
All up through the seaports and into their hands
Look away said they across this mighty land
From the eastern shore to the western strand
Bring in the workers and bring up the rails
We gotta lay down the tracks and tear up the trails
Open 'er heart let the life blood flow
Gotta get on our way 'cause we're movin' too slow
Bring in the workers and bring up the rails
We're gonna lay down the tracks and tear up the trails
Open 'er heart let the life blood flow
Gotta get on our way 'cause we're movin' too slow
Get on our way 'cause we're movin' too slow
Behind the blue Rockies the sun is declinin'
The stars, they come stealin' at the close of the day
Across the wide prairie our loved ones lie sleeping
Beyond the dark oceans in a place far away
We are the navvies who work upon the railway
Swingin' our hammers in the bright blazin' sun
Livin' on stew and drinkin' bad whiskey
Bendin' our old backs 'til the long days are done
We are the navvies who work upon the railway
Swingin' our hammers in the bright blazin' sun
Layin' down track and buildin' the bridges
Bendin' our old backs 'til the railroad is done
So over the mountains and over the plains
Into the muskeg and into the rain
Up the St. Lawrence all the way to Gaspe
Swingin' our hammers and drawin' our pay
Drivin' 'em in and tyin' 'em down
Away to the bunkhouse and into the town
A dollar a day and a place for my head
A drink to the livin' and a toast to the dead
Oh the song of the future has been sung
All the battles have been won
O'er the mountain tops we stand
All the world at our command
We have opened up the soil
With our teardrops and our toil
For there was a time in this fair land when the railroad did not run
When the wild majestic mountains stood alone against the sun
Long before the white man and long before the wheel
When the green dark forest was too silent to be real
When the green dark forest was too silent to be real
And many are the dead men too silent to be real

The railroad trilogy always makes me feel Canadian. The Green Dark Forest is hard to get to now, it's in Kananaskis but they cleared some of that to make room for G-8 and in a little town called Tabor (the best cob corn in Alberta there) we had what was called "The Canadian Littleton". Twas not, but talking about that makes me annoyed and depressed.
We did give birth to comedic talent Mike Meyers and harboured American comedic genius with a twist Michael Moore. Dan Hill divorced the U.S. for us and we can always take pride in Lorne Greene.
These people, men mostly, all made me laugh for different reasons.
Then there is Jazzn who inspires me to write. I've been out of the dungeon for a whole day and look where I end up? Here!
Thanks folks. May you find a green great forest ... too silent to be real ... even if it's virtual.
Jetsammingalong even more now!

Well!
I feel like Donkey and Shrek after Princess Fiona has kicked the Matrix out of Robin Hood and his Merry Men. Speechless.
Welcome, Jetsammingalong. That was a whole lot of Mr. Lightfoot.

Yes, this's one thread I think she'd fit into just fine (& I think it goes without saying, contribute alot to), hope she gets back on a frequent basis...like the Shrek analogy anhaga, great movie! ( she's a friend of mine from the Telus site anhaga, thought I should explain .)

So the last time anyone added to this conversation was 5 weeks ago, there's no rush.
"Intercontinental ballistic teletubbies" ? Sounds like something from the late Spike Milligna, the well known typing error. Which is fine by me.
As we've just changed to daylight-saving time does this mean we've been on daylight-wasting time since October?
On a kind of topical yet definitely satirical but maybe verging on the dark side of good taste re Iraq & Afghanistan angle. My grandfather had a saying from World War II. When the British planes fly over the Germans hide. When the German planes fly over the British hide. When the American planes fly over EVERYONE hides!
Apologising to inanimate objects, I like that. If you know which Whitehorse musher has entered the Yukon Quest 20 times you can be an honorary H2G2 Yukoner as well. Assuming you know where we are and don't make jokes, Will and Ian Ferguson!

Oh, and congratulations on the new powers being devolved on you from the Federal government.

It was late and I'd lost an hour! Mistakes happen!
We've already seen the effects of devolution, people have moved to a different building. The excitement never stops.
Now we just have to see what YTG do with their new powers.

What are we going to do with this: http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2003/04/10/cellucci_030410 ?
And why doesn't he just stop stirring the pot?
And why doesn't Stephen Harper just sit down and be quiet?
"Should Chief Gordon Lightfoot reinstate the Saskatchewan Rhinoceros hunt?
rev. paperboy (god is an iron) Posted Apr 11, 2003
I'm sure Harper would sit down, its just that he doesn't want to sit on his own shoulders and drive his head any further up his fundement.
As for Celluci I say we expel him the next time he opens his pie hole to publically criticize policy that does not have to do with direct Canada-U.S. relations.
Our ambassador doesn't go around giving speeches to groups of Democrats complaining about U.S. policy in other parts of the world, nor should he. As ambassador he should do any complaining or citicizing privately to the Minister of Foreign Affairs via the usual channels, not this grandstanding for the house of commons peanut gallery.
Key: Complain about this post
