Kidnapped by aliens

Many abductees share personality traits!! The story continues...
People who claim to have been kidnapped by aliens have a tendency to believe in fantasies and suffer disturbing experiences in their sleep, scientists have found. News from the bbc.co.uk website.
Any comments?

I must admit that 4 million people sounds rather a lot of people to be kidnapped by aliens. Personally I don't believe that aliens have ever visited this planet. There is a complete lack of evidence for it as far as I can tell.

You've never met my mother in law.....
Of course, it's patently obvious that the aliens only abduct the most evolved humans - this with sufficient superior intelligence to realise that there is real truth in newspaper horoscopes.
People who don't believe in aliens will see this as justification for their beliefs, and people who *do* believe in aliens will see this as another subtle plot to undermine their credibility, which just shows how much the aliens have infiltrated themselves into the corridors of power...

there's a book called something like"why people believe weird things" and in it the author explains alien abductions as being something to do with the state between sleep and awake and how it appears to be an abduction. Unfortunately it is a long time since I read it so can't remember exactly. Also there is a scientist in Canada who by changing the atmosphere in the laboratory can get people to see UFO's. He says it happens naturally when an earthquake or volcano is about to blow. The book is on the skepdics dot com page I think. I know the scientist is on the web somewhere as well. I try to keep an open mind and will wait and see if anything other evidence comes forward.

oooh, but what about those plains where the pictures are drawn so big they can only be seen from the sky, and they were drawn thousands of years ago, well before we could fly....
The thing is, you can't go on the 'similar experience', cuz any crackpot could say "Good lord! I've been abducted!" just cuz they fell asleep without realising it and dreamt of little grey men and wake up with a headache (probably due to tiredness rather than implants).
On the other hand, we plant 'trackers' on animals on this planet.. could not be planting 'trackers' on us? *twighlight zone music*

It's attributed to sleep-paralysis and false-awakening. I suffer from both occasionaly and it's absolutely horrible.
