The Montreux festival. Does this still occur? In the eighties this was on TV every year but I haven't seen it or heard it mentioned for years.

Yeah its still going but its not taken up by channel four anymore.
Also you still get high diving boards but they are expensive and round here the local authority claims it cant even afford to keep swimming pools open.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but has Chitty Chitty Bang Bang not been on TV for years?

Tim-Brooke Taylor is still a part of the 'team' that constitutes that antidote to panel games "I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue" of which the latest series is just about to end on BBC Radio 4 with a summary of the year's "Clue" on Monday night, 6:30 GMT.
And as far as I know, in 30 years he's _still_ only won 3 games of mornington Crescent

You can call me TC Posted Dec 26, 2003
I had a mega crush on Tim Brooke-Taylor back in the days of the Goodies and the 1948 Show.

Black ink all over your hands after reading a newspaper.

Going back one to Emancipation of the Groin's post - I am sorry to say that the local paper for Ipswich, the Evening Star, is guaranteed to turn your hands black almost as soon as you pick it up. Whatever technology they use to stop the national papers from smudging obviously hasn't reached East Anglia yet.

Petrocelli
The fact that some humourist has written a song about Petrocelli on the Writing Buddies website suggests that it might still be on some dodgy satellite channel somewhere - but I haven't seen it on TV for years.

Pretty much, yeah. There are some places near the East Coast that cannot get a digital signal (if they boost it up, it will interfere with european digital broadcasts) so no digital telly for me unless I am prepared to shell out huge wadges of cash for satellite or cable. If the analogue signal gets turned off at the end of this decade as has been threatend, then I may be able to add 'television' to the list of things I don't see any more.
Key: Complain about this post
