What classic song gets on your nerves? I think "Yesterday" (the most covered song ever) is drippy and dreary.

I still can't understand how apparently a lot of people like the hideously annoying, bloody irritating, thoroughly illogical spawn of satan that is "you're so vaiN" by Carly Simon.

yes, that's the bloody thing. I really do think it is actually evil, and that Ms Simon should be tried for crimes against humanity for inflicting the pile of bilge on an unsuspecting world.

I think it's alright. It's better when it's covered by alternative acts though...
Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, Nickleback. All co-incidentally Canadian acts.

I like Bryan Adams but the other two can rot to an untimely end in the tower of london with carly f***ing Simon.

I've always had shivers and felt physically sick when the so called "classic" () Nights in White Satin is played!

"Space Oddity" by Bowie.
Used to love the song. Then played an incredibly long game of Monopoly against my best mate Lucy who, for some unknown reason, had decided to stick the song on continous play.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Othe than that: 'Maggie May' by Rod Stewart, 'D'you think I'm sexy' by that band with Rod Stewart in, 'You're in my Heart' by Rod Stewart, 'Sailing' by....
...definitely a theme emerging.

From the world of theatre: 'Memory' from Cats. Quite possibly the most over-rated and over-sung song ever!
I know a lot of people love it, but for me it has no redeeming features whatsoever.

I was just about to post Hotel California. I can't imagine a more depressing, crooning piece of fecal matter. Worse, I only have to hear one bar of it in order for it to get stuck in my head for days on end.
That being said, the Gypsy Kings version of Hotel California is pretty funny. Imagine the song done in Spanish, with a Latin beat. It was in the move "The Big Lebowski," and it was the theme song for a really strange guy at the bowling alley named Jesus.

I can't remember who recorded it but 'Feelings' has me reaching for the off switch whenever I hear it. And 'Imagine' by John Lennon is totally over-rated. There was a programme about the Top 100 UK 'number 1' singles. 'Imagine' came out top of the list, beating 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. It didn't even make number 1 when it was first released, and only got there because it was re-released when Lennon died, for crying out loud!
