You know if Michael Jackson wasn't well known the police would have a very difficult job describing him. Male/Female? Black/White?
Maybe "police are hunting the strangest looking person you will ever see".

Incidentally, Saturnine has apparently had computer problems for quite some time, hence her absence from the site at the moment, but as far as I can gather she'll be back when it's all sorted.

Saturnine - can't wait for you to come back and defend yourself. No doubt you will say though that that was your view 9 months ago and that no one has bothered to ask if your opinion has changed.
Ironic as you used to argue that how dare anyone think that just because you were 18, your views might in any way change as you got older.
We do miss your input though...

I somehow doubt the reasoning behind resurrecting this thread was to start an attack on Saturnine over an argument/discussion that was over NINE MONTHS AGO. If you have a problem with Saturnine, I suggest you take it to her personal space and leave a message there where she can more easily find it when she comes back, instead of throwing it in the middle of a thread that was brought back to life for the purpose of discussing the original topic of conversation rather than digs at other Researchers.

Fair enough - presume that's for all the people who have commented since her last post including far sharper ones on verbal abusers.

OK - back to the thread then. Having yesterday read this thread through, I am curious also as to how someone could say that Michael Jackson was 'pre-sexual'. How did he manage to father 3 children ? Given that he emphatically denies having any more than one or two operations on his face - not cosmetic, purely for breathing problems with his nose - I'm afraid I find anything he says a little hard to take at face value. Regardless of his state of mind, he does have a tendency to tell massive porkies. Either that or he is in denial which doesn't bode well for the current allegations either. I also think he is being extremely cruel mentally to his children with bags over their heads, not allowed to mix and highly dangerous dangling stunts.

I'm more interested in why he was bailed, and why he got to "do a deal to turn himself in" when Joe Public would have been hounded... years ago probably

I see kids standing on the back seats of cars in traffic and hanging about on the street at the age of FIVE. Mostly no one bats an eyelid, because it dont sell newspapers, papers and TV news dont make a fuss.
I look at Jackos situation and know only what I am told by a biased press. So it would not be fair to pass judgement with such limited evidence; about him, his parenting, or his sexual preferences and tastes.
What I really would like to see is an interview with the parents who let their kids get into vulnerable postions with ANYONE who has come in for so much coverage about child abuse in the past. Maybe IF any of this is found to be true they should also be tried for neglect for putting their child in that position in the first place.

Well, that too.
I always make a fuss if I see kids unstrapped in cars. I have called the police to come to my daughters' school/kindergarten and let everyone know I did it when it got really bad around there.
If more people did that, it would be better.
The point about Michael Jackson is that if joe public sees him "get away with it" because he's famous, the he thinks it's acceptable behaviour. Like it or not, MJ is a role model.
IMO there is too much interfering in places where there is no need (seeing someone give a slap to a child on the legs one time is no reason to call out social services - but I've seen it happen - whereas the kid who is really skinny, has no proper shoes, and sits on the doorstep for an hour after school waiting for someone to come home and let him in is ignored. Going for the easy prosecution?)
I don't really care two hoots about MJ and how he behaves, the people around him, the people letting letting their kids stay with him, etc etc, should be paying attention to it.
What does disturb me is the "doing a deal with the police" aspect that has been emphasised by the press. He gets special treatment because he is rich and famous.

The Taxi driver who took me home from work last night had a very similar opinion to that, and I'd have to agree with him.
I'm reserving my judgement on MJ himself, tho, until something's proven or disproven by a court. Tho' like the OJ Simpson trial, it's going to be BLO*DY hard to find an untainted jury.
What I found highly amusing is an interview with MJ's brother Jermaine, in which he says "My brother isnt' eccentric..."
Comedy gold.

I think this might be a good time to restart this dormant posting
So who would like to be on the Jury then?

I hope Michael Jackson is innocent....

hope means you may have your doubts, should be an interesting trial

Belmatt Guardian of the string vest, weilder of the towel of terror Posted Feb 2, 2005
well of course people will doubt him, after the last time. I just hope for the millions of people who worship (not me)him worldwide that another hero to so many people doesn't fall into disgrace......
Michael Jackson
Simetra Posted Feb 2, 2005
well he is innocent till proven, the media show will either work for him or against depending on how strong the case is, but at least he still got his looks
Michael Jackson
Baconlefeets Posted Feb 2, 2005
How are they going to pick the Jury? Is there anyone who doesn't already have an opinion on him?
Michael Jackson
Simetra Posted Feb 3, 2005
it will be like picking contestants for Big Brother, they will be selected for the right mix of personality maybe
Michael Jackson
Mister Matty Posted Feb 4, 2005
I've heard a rumour that, in the United States, the jury is actually *picked* by the lawyers.
I think this, if true, is ridiculous. The whole point of a jury is that it's a random selection of ordinary people, not specific personality types that the lawyers can manipulate.

didn't you see that movie recently "Runaway Jury" with Hoffmann and Hackman
The M.J. trial is going to bigger than the O.J. trail, with similar out come I suspect
