Ooo - I'm not average. So far this week I spent most of Monday at work, followed by a run, followed by study and then I did watch about 45-minutes worth of 'Humans' (recorded on Sunday when I watched 'Jonathon Strange & Mr Norrell', with adverts fast-forwarded). Yesterday I did watch 45-minutes of 'The Avengers' after work and study. Today I'm out running after work and may not be home after my run until 9pm. I'll probably record 'Olympus' on Spike as that's amusingsmiley - silly, but probably won't watch it until tomorrow as I'll be catching up with studies.

Hmmm - unless watching educational videos counts as telly?

I don't watch TV at all any more, except if I'm in a hotel or the hospital and there's nothing else to do.

Not much of dramatic interest any more, except "Law and Order" and old movies.

Last time I was in the Hospital they were running a Marilyn Monroe and I found quite a number of things I'd never appreciated properly before.

I'd personally rate "Perry Mason" !ike the finest TV series ever made.

You might need to translate that for our non-native boardmembers, or for anyone under about 40.

Tool-tips for rotary drills that are cut so that one cannot seat the shank solidly in the socket, but must rely on the the drill chuck alone to hold the bit in place.

Say its a drill bit and you need to drill through 2 2x4s, or a 2x4 and a 3/8" sheet of plywood.

You'd think that the design engineers designing the tool-tips would have some sense of standard sizes, but that, plus, the depth of thr chuck is beyond them, a problem that contributes to regular tool mishaps.

Hammond, I think you'll find you're the one who is being pedantic here.

PH - People who do their hair while driving.

I was on my bike in my hi-vis gear at a fairly busy junction on my way to work this morning, clearly indicating to turn right when I saw a lady waving her right arm to her left, the internationally-recognised signal for 'Go on, I'm a nice person, I'll let you across the road'.
Then, to my horror, as she approached closely I realised that she wasn't actually waving, but was combing her long hair on the front left of her face with a small brush held in the palm of her right hand, and not only had she not been waving, she hadn't seen me and was paying absolutely no attention to the road at all - despite the fact it is one of the busiest in town.

A car can be a lethal weapon - WATCH WHAT YOU'RE DOING WHEN DRIVING - vanity should take second place.smiley - grr

(Naturally, the vast majority of drivers are lovely, friendly people who enjoy giving helpful waves to cyclists at junctions, and I have nothing but praise for all the other drivers I shared the road with this morning - except the white van with the trailer and the taxi...)

Yes you are. You are splitting hairs over semantics, which is being pedantic, and then you've misused 'pedantic' which I can only assume is a deliberate attempt at ironic hilarity!

Doing hair etc while driving - really dangerous.
I hate people doing their make up on public transport. Although sometimes it's fascinating to watch the amount of effort & assess how much impact it's had…

I think if anyone tried doing makeup on Swindon's buses they'd end up looking like they were wearing warpaint.

It's mostly trains I'm on. Even those can be a bit bumpy - just waiting for someone to stick a mascara wand in their eye.

Used to see quite a few people doing their make up on the trams, couldn't help thinking they needed to be more organised.smiley - erm

I read that as:
"Perhaps they think it is being organised to use time travel in this way."
I was puzzled about how time travel relates to make-up, and thought about Martin Clunes in Doctor Who:

Sho - employed again!

doing things on the train seems to me to be an efficient use of your time. I do OU work, or read or catch up on emails/social media. But that's because I'm old fashioned enough to think that people shouldn't see me putting my make-up on.

Some people on my train eat their breakfast, start work, carry on sleeping (the snoring guy is hilarious) or whatever.

but doing that kind of thing when you're driving comes under "without due care and attention" doesn't it?

I stick my mascara wand in my eye on a regular basis. Must be micro-earthquakes locally in my bathroom.
PH: lack of summer weather.
