I have experienced this problem too, its frustrating. The easiest way to deal with it is to bookmark the page you want, or copy the page address.

My dark blue mug. I find it almost impossible to make proper tea in it. I just can't judge the colour.

People who pronounce "decade" the same as "decayed".

PH of the day: Channel 4's 4OD service that makes me choose which adverts I watch before and in between shows. I don't want to watch any of the them, so making me select an ad is akin to making me choose which pin to stick in my eye.

'Buttons' or text on a computer screen - usually a web page that say 'If you are not re-directed within 5 seconds, click here'.

They should really say, 'to wait for a whole lot longer until you are eventually re-directed, click here'.

These things are only there to give you something to do whilst you wait!

They're actually usually there as a fail safe in case something goes wrong. A lot of security built into browsers stops form or some links being automatically submitted, so this workaround had to be put in place. Blame Apple and Safari.

Mindless paperwork that has inexplicably severe penalties if it's not completed.

I do plenty of that too. This is payment by results in the NHS. 'Results' are measured by paperwork done rather than anything to do with contact with patients.

Inappropriate superlatives.

I have just heard in the news that this current band of snow is 'exceptional'.

No it isn't. It's winter. It snows in winter. That's what it does.

When I was a lad we had 1963. THAT was exceptional.

When that bloody autoflush on urinals flushes when you're using it.

...and those accursed rubber mats they put in them, for that matter.

In fact, let's just say urinals in general.

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am...

"I did this thing X decades ago and have been in and out of rooms associated with this thing ever since."

Really, I imagined that as soon as you'd done that thing you'd stopped going into that room ever.

Targeted advertizing.

What's wrong with targeted advertising? I think it's an advantage, when the retailers or whoever can see that my weekly shop does not include anything for babies or pets, so I am not inundated with Pampers or dogfood offers or adverts.

Sho - employed again!

I don't mind it at all, in fact through targeted advertising I heard about singer who was performing in a pub near us, really liked his show, bought the CDs and me and smiley - chef were very happy with that.

If it's something I don't want - i just ignore it. smiley - smiley

Totally agree with TC. We have a loyalty card for the supermarket we use most often. When they send us money-off vouchers, they are almost always for things we buy regularly. I also have a Boots Advantage card. We don't shop there that often, which means their target advertising has nothing to work with. I keep getting money-off vouchers for beauty products that I don't use and never will.

The Tescos ones my parents get they appreciate - but they actually save more on the random cheap petrol ones that come through every now and again
