It was, maybe, dire, but an excuse, no. It was from personal experience, only overcome by MOH's rapid and painless journey through the menopause. So now I have months upon end of a stable, reasoning and happy, understanding and joyous relationship - the kind I always used to have, but then only for about 2 1/2 weeks of each month.

Said post can only have been meant , following as it did on the topic of prostate medication and a moan about men's afflictions.
Surely the selling of generic pharmaceuticals under fancy names just for the sake of asking a 50% higher price is a petty hate that transcends gender.
And, as Mala says, we have to pay far more in Germany even for the brands which don't use fancy names. I usually stock up when I'm in the UK.

Mental illnesses aside, personality traits tend to remain more consistent I would say. That said, I have an old male friend who in recent years has increasing periods of mega-grumpiness and inappropriate comment making. I put that down though to the long-term absence of a woman in his life. Long-term single men tend to get a bit strange over time. I know, I was such a man.
and women don't? "cat ladies" par example?

The good thing about living in the UK when you're over 60 and need medication for anything is that it's free on prescription. It's only the everyday stuff like Ibuprofen etc that costs. Providing you buy the standard BP types, you can always beat the prices of such as Neurofen, and it seems to me their inflated prices are only to cover the incredible amount of advertising they do.

OK, I´m allowed this because we have a male majority at the moment.
YOU females have a problem once a month? WE have to watch ourselves in a mirror every morning and have cold steel at our jugular, just to look better in your eyes!

You could grow a beard. Some women like men with beards. I've told hubby that getting rid of his would be grounds for divorce.

Grooming a beard still takes cold steel near one's jugular.
Unless you like the marooned style beard like http://www.fraterslibertas.com/Images/Separated/pythonits.jpg

Yup, maintaining a tidy beard is far more time and labour intensive than simply clean shaving.

Cold steel to me means an old fashioned razor. Hubby uses an electric shaver to keep his beard tidy, which I refuse to count as cold steel.

Old fashioned cut-throat is the way to go
And while I can tolerate those childish devices popularised by Mr Gillette, electric razors are truly the work of the

Yeah, just what is it with women and voluntary pain?! piercings, waxing, high heels... Don't you get enough pain of the involuntary sort, like childbirth and periods without giving yourself more ?!

Ah yes ... getting back to the point of the thread that's reminded me ... the price of bloody razor blades ... and the fact that you don't seem able to buy anything less than a triple-bladed one ...

Little is known that in 1793 French engineers came up with a triple-bladed Guillotine for a 'closer, smoother trim'.

Petty hate of the day: writing a normal word so often/staring at it for so long that it stops looking like a word and you have to go find a dictionary to make sure that it *is* a valid word and you've spelled it correctly.
