The first Public Autopsy for 175 years. What did you think?

Hang on a sec - Kelli and everyone else who has posted here may well care very much about the prospect of war, but that wasn't your question. You specifically asked about the autopsy.
In addition, you can desire a society where there is freedom of choice, but you don't have to agree with every choice that is made. In fact, it's your choice to do so. When you open up society, you let the bad in with the good. Von Hagens may have been 'condemned' by some for what he did - but he wasn't prevented from doing it.

Is it international "Take Saturnine the wrong way" day or something?
I specifically said that this kind of forum ISN'T included in what I was saying, BECAUSE I asked the question ...I was making a general musing...

I don't know about anyone else, but I am capable of holding two (or more!) opinions about diverse subjects at the same time - sometimes even about the same subject Just because I found the artistic elements of V.H.'s work unpleasant doesn't mean that I don't find the prospect of war horrific, or have something to say (not always terribly tactfully at present admittedly) about a million other topics.

*hello out there*
I wasn't saying that you couldn't!
Jesus! I posted some general thoughts. One of them was about media coverage and what people are thinking about in general.

when i said sensationalized i simply meant the autopsy set out to shock
not too teach! i find it interesting, they could use this method to aid teaching of smoking effects
on the body. death is a taboo, it is scary... have u really_ thought"one day i will die" the autopsy may have posed questions people are not ready to face! i wonder what peoples views will be if it had been 'performed in a clinical setting.

I don't think it was set out to shock...more to let people explore their own curiousities if they wished to...
All voids are scary. I mean, it is human nature to fear what we do not know...that's what makes religion so prominent...and also keeps us safe from harm!

It did not set out to shock, no. (The family requested it, didn't they? someone did...) That was just one reaction.
It could have been far, far worse, if it set out to shock it would have been. (Even the most extreme 'shocking' films do not have this as their primary intention, that is not to say all their aims are laudable but some are merely 'special interest'.)
Reading most of the feedback on the c4 page, this was not as much a majority reaction as you may have thought.

I know. Was quite disappointed really. I was all geared up for public outrage...damn h2g2. Such modern minds...
The most shocking film I have seen is Dancer in the Dark...off topic it may be...
