In London on the 5th February, it's Bright and sunny and even a little hazy. Glancing out the window one could be forgiven for thinking it was July. However, the temperature is only around 5c. Pretty nice day all told!

In Colwyn Bay (ish) at 12.25pm, it's bright but cold. Not a day to forget the gloves.

Currently -7.2°F (-21.8°C ). They shut the heat off in the building I work in last night- the pipes froze and the elevators are acting weird... it was a creepy ride up the 27 floors to my office. The wind chill out there is still about -30°F. smiley - brr We have a wind chill warning in effect through about 9:00 AM, then a wind chill advisory through tomorrow.

Toward the weekend, we'll be having a heat wave, with temps rising to the low 20s F. smiley - biggrin

London - 6th february - 0930

Glorious bright sunny day. Barely a cloud in the sky. It was a chilly -2c last night and it's still quite nippy now, probably about 1c, but the sun has some warmth and there's no breeze so it doesn't feel at all unpleasant. Beautiful winter's day!

It started the day with ground frost and the sky had little cloud which built up through out the day. It has the weather forecast became partly cloudy. There was sunshine but from 20:00 frost started to appear on the cars. We could have a hard frost tonight and some wintry shows tomorrow.

London - 0850 - 7th February

Another glorious sunny day but very cold. About -1c right now. Was cold through the night. I can appreciate the boiler being replaced scenario, I'm going thruogh that too and it's just one disaster after another. I've had no heating for weeks and weeks!

Quite a bit warmer already this morning- 4.6°F (-15.2°C), though wind chills still make it feel so much colder. At least an hour or so before sunrise, but it's supposed to be sunny and clear. Chicago, 5:34 AM.

Woke up to a hard frost and by 10 am it started to recede but there were some areas shaded from the snow that were still covered by snow in the afternoon. Temp max 3 celsius.

It's snowing in North West London at 07.47 on February 8th. Instead of a white Christmas I'm having a white birthday!

It had already snowed about 3 inches by the time I woke up (06.30) and it's snowing fairly heavily again right now. Everything is white. I live in a loft apartment with all my windows in the roof so it's even really dark in here because all the windows are under a very thick layer of snow apart from one. It's funny, I feel properly "snowed in"!!

Naturaly, as this is London, the tube is at a standstill. There are two tube lines and a train line within site of my house (that's not as loud as it's sounds!) and during this morning's "rush hour", there's only about one train passing every ten minutes or so. According to the radio, Stansted, Luton and Gatwick airports have all closed their runways and Heathrow and London City airports have severe disruptions to schedules.

The current temperature is around 0c and there's very little wind so this may not pass over quickly. With the high today expected to be 4c and cloudy with temperatures falling back to 0c tonight, the snow may hang around for a day or two.

Manchester/Stockport, traditionally the last place in the UK to get snow:

4 degrees-ish. Drizzly, overcast. Snow conspicuous by its absence. I suppose whichever direction it approaches from, some other bit of the British Isles gets it first and there's nothing left over for us...

Weather this morning heavy snow about 0 degrees C. Snow was 2 ins/50mm thick on my car, easy to remove unlike yesterday's thick frost and -4degrees C. Drived slowly on side roads until main road where driving was ok with care Coming home 2.5degrees C roads clear but pavements still slushy.
