It started early this morning with severe freezing fog but cleared up by late morning. The fog was patchy and other places in South Ockendon still had fog most of the day. By night fall it had completely cleared and now at 20:05 the sky is completely clear and the stars are out.

It started off very foggy with very weak sunshine and lots of cloud. During the day the fog lifted, the clouds thinned out and for a time there was a clear sky and plenty of bright sunshine. Even with the sunshine it was a cold day. It is 20:50 now and the sky is clouded over and it is misty.

About 38C with the chance of a thunderstorm. There are flood watch warnings for a lot of South Australia becuase we have only had about 27mm rain since May. That is, it didn't rain this winter and the ground is now rock hard.

We are used to 'not much rain' but this is getting very wierd. Most people don't think that it will rain now either.

Dragonfly. "A poet can survive everything but a misprint"-- Oscar Wilde

Denver, Colorado

Many major highways closed yesterday due to what their calling the Holiday 2006 Blizzard. Sky is so full of snow that it hasn't been black or blue, just white and sometimes a little orange or purple for more than 24 hours. Kinda eerie.

Visibility is very poor. At it's worst yesterday, I could only see half a block away from my eighth floor balcony. I think I get two blocks today and in normal weather we can see for miles, all the way to the Rocky Mountains. Forget the mountains today.

Denver International Airport is closed until 7 tonight. And no mail will be delivered today. I've lived in Colorado 26 years and never remember the airport being closed for more than half a day or so and I think the mail didn't stop, either? I could be very wrong.

Apparently, Denver got 22 inches of snow last night. We have about an inch, maybe an inch and a half on our balcony. Yes. The balcony on the eighth floor. The problem with this storm has been the snow has blown sideways much of the time.

There are about 4700 people stranded at DIA. I'm very happy I've been home all day yesterday and today.

I had to scrape a thin layer of frost off the car this morning. We seem to have had a lot of fog lately and the temperature has turned decidedly chilly.

A dull but mild day with persistent very light rain throughout the day until the late afternoon.

I think that the weather will be like that until the New Year. I do not know if we will get frost again.
