Big brown eyes are mentioned in the Smokie song "Mexican Girl" as well -

"Well she looked at me with those dark brown eyes and she whispered "aste la vista" well I don't know what that means but it sounded so good that I kissed her..."

MogGie, your eyes are a perfect description of my daughter Laura's.
Helen's are a lighter blue with a yellowish centre, she hates them and wishes they were green!

The Boy has mysterious multi-coloured eyes that change with the weather.
Mine are simply brun' tho.

The deepest, darkest chocolate brown I've ever seen with black striations and one or two gold flecks. And a black ring. In the right light they're that same odd reddy-black-brown colour of proper coco-cola.

The irony is that my sister has green eyes, the sort that change colour depending on the light, her make up and her clothes.

I have always envied her greeen eyes. What I couldn't do with eyes like that! But it turns out, she has always envied me my brown eyes. (Which made me a lot happier about them).

But colour-co-ordinating eyes would be soooooo useful darling!

I find this thread absolutely fascinating. Almost everyone in the world has brown eyes. Alsmost everyone here is of Scandinavian or Celtic origin (a mixture of those)

Good to hear I'm not the only one with changing eye colours. And I've also tried the stuff with the passport I think it says blue in there.

Coloured contact lenses.
Though I have been told they make you look as if you have a glassy stare.

My daughter had navy blue eyes till she was 4 or 5. Then they turned grey. Now they're green (but bluer than mine).
Her daughter has green eyes. It'll be interesting to see what happens to them as she grows.

But with colored contacts, won't your pupil size stay the same? Then you risk being shot down by a Blade Runner

Hence the glassy stare.

I had a go with some of those plastic contact lenses that don't alter your vision (supposedly) but change the colour of the iris. Humph! They were ok to wear - not too uncomfortable for a girl unused to even wearing glasses, but the unchanging pupil size meant that when I went into places with low lighting levels - such as a pub or party - my vision went all blurry round the edges. It was decidedly odd, so now I just stick with my boring grey eyes...

I really HATE my cow-pat eyes. Two of my sons have blue eyes and two have brown - I would quite happily have any colour other than the one I have, it has to be the most unexciting, unattractive colour in the world. The cow-pat reference originated from my brother who used to tell me that anyone gazing into my eyes must think they are looking at cow-pats!! - great for a girls ego

But always mainly clear grey-blue with yellowy brown trim around the pupil

Light blue/grey (with white flecks I was told by the optician. Maybe she was flirting with me!)
