Yeah... UV is sort of reduced but never eliminated by autoglass.
Try pumping the cab full of ozone next time and see what happens. On second thought, maybe you better not because if you accidently trip the cigarette lighter the thing might blow up and the truck drivers would have a report a terrorist not a sleeper slut lurking in the heath.

Actually that might sound a little too smartassed so maybe you should know it's just a joke ok?
I mean about the 'sleeper slut'. I don't know what you call them in the UK ok? But in the US some truckers have sleepers on their rigs that sort of remind you of the honeymoon suite at the Sahara in Las Vegas. They're usually from Texas too where everything's too big and long to drive Back East. Maybe they're compensating for something huh?

So it's OK for a man to have numerous encounters but if a woman does it she's a slut......

Sorry Sharky. Couldn't remember your name.
Could be old age (or just bad manners).
Will you forgive me if I ?

I'll put it down to 'a senior moment'.
And I have enough of those myself that there is nothing to forgive.

No it's not ok but the language still reflects the bias doesn't it?
Last I heard the man was known as a 'stud' with no perjorative connotations... consequently I think it's time the term slut was given a similar level of dignity and respect and I proudly claim it for my sisters in the struggle.
Anybody got a problem with that?

Only problem is that it doesn't work. If you choose nice shiny euphamisms for something the euphamisms just get damaged. You can see this in the correct terms for certain mental illnesses both here in the UK and in the US, and you can certainly see it in the correct descriptors for racial minorities too.
On the other hand lilith, you might like the Short Guide to Short Words which was initiated by me, and which is now truly a community project. You can find a link to it from my home page.
It tells the story of Penn State University whose women held a c**tfest in 2000 to reclaim the word in pride. I have not noticed much change there, though.
No - changing language does not really work. Or it is only one of the strands in changing attitudes.

Why is the slut/stud thing so strange? There are different ideals for men and women. I'm not saying it should be this way, I just think it is suprising some people find it so strange.

How dare you, I am not a ageist. I think you should know I'm considered a studess, well kind of, since I only sleep with one guy, you know. But other people are too ignorate to actually know all the facts before calling me a studess. Too be honest, I don't give a feated Dingo's kidneys!!!

I thought in these days a stud is just a poor thing being milked so his seed can be used piecemeal in artificial insemination.

Actually Ben changing language works fine if you can get enough people to do it and it happens historially as some stupid pompous knowitall discovered in the 19th century when he left 'occupy' untouched in the sanitized version of the Shakespearean plays for sensitive young ladies not realizing the word meant sexual intercourse in the 16th century. That was Bawdler right? Hence Bawdlerizing etc?
So even if nobody else does, if I use 'slut' with pride it doesn't have the bite it's intended to have by those who use it to hurt or humiliate. Same thing applies to 'c**t' (sorry no asterixes so drown me if ya want) or 'pussy' or anything else that's intended to belittle me by concentrating on one portion of my anatomy or one portion of my life.
It's like these people who play these kinds of word games can't be very clever to begin with or they'd know their prejudices are born out of ignorance and neglecting things... duh!! And I don't think they appear cool... just stupid... which is probably what they are. So do we have a word for that?
I think the Admiral of Oz said it already... 'idiot'.
But what's funny about idiots I think is they think they can distinguish between the women they put on pedestals and the women they shove in the gutter and we won't notice the whole thing's intended to oppress all women. Divide and conquer right?
