McKay The Disorganised

It was on the cover of a Sheffield Wednesday Fanzine when they were relegated....

I'm positive this is not from Mary Poppins. (And I also remember the talking to the parrot bit.)

Julie Andrews was not in Bedknobs and Broomsticks - it was Angela Lansbury - but the father of the children from Mary Poppins (Mr Banks) was in it.

I've got a picture from a film in my head - guy standing in doorway wiping hands on piece of towel. "My work here is done." Drops paper towel, opens door and exits. But the guys face just won't come smiley - dohsmiley - grr

Leonard Nimoy said it after a monorail disaster was narrowly averted in Springfield.

"But you didn't do anything"

"Didn't I?"

he says.

Tonsil Revenge (PG)

Bart, in "Blazing Saddles."
Last scene, before the townsfolk of Rock Ridge say "bulls**t!"

But, I think that means that Mel Brooks was harkening back to Richard Boone in "Paladin" or James Garner in "Maverick", or even further, back to Hopalong Cassidy or The Lone Ranger, who was in radio long before he hit the tube.

There was a kid doing cooking on "This Morning" the other day called Maverick after some character in Top Gun.

Some parents have no idea.

the autist formerly known as flinch

I think it was the Eastman note that gave the phrase it's notoriety.

I think it was seen as an unusually noble sentiment.
