Cadbury's Roses, must be stopped!

what about a Ben & Jerry version of Cadbury's Rose?

oooh, Five Centres... (anyone know what the flavours were supposed to be? Strawberry was discernible, but then it all went orangraptang&lilem. (Wish they were real.)) and what about Terry's Pyramint? Supposedly they were grossly unpopular, but they had their admirers.
Anyway, enough wallowing in past confections. (Now that'd be nice!) We cannot let Roses pass unprotested.

Now you've got me thinking about my past favourites. I loved Walnut Whips, I would chuck away the walnut on the top (nuts - yuk!!) and then bite the lid off and lick out the whipped creamy middle bit - yum!!
You can see I haven't had chocolate for two weeks now, I'm not only talking about it, I'm dreaming about it - the other night I dreamt I ate a packet of Minstrels and a King sized Mars - nothing Freudian about that!!

Walnut Whips are still around... I've seen them recently, anyway. Maybe hallucinating. I never ate the walnut either- I'd give it away and everyone would think I was generous.

Rainbow - I do like the nuts, but they get a bit samey.
The Rasberry thingy made me realise that it's the gooey-ness of the chocolates-formerly-known-as-Roses which turns me off. I mean - I'd do anything for a raspeberry ruffle
They used to do milk and plain walnut whips, each with white or chocolate centres. Always v pricey for what they were though. M*rks and Sp*nc*rs do a good range of whip tipe products, sum with pecan some with orange choc on top

They also used to do a Walnut Whip with a coffee flavoured centre which was wonderful - and I even used to eat the walnut.

The problem with today everything is getting to complicated. What ever happen to simple food such as raspberry ripple ice-cream, we now have icecream with about 8 different things in it. Coffee is a great example, five years ago you could of gone in to a coffee shop and ask for, A COFFEE, now it's a Double Grande Mocha Choca.
And now they have the sheer tanacity to remove the creme centres from roses, they have gone too far.

Wagon wheels have shrunk too. They get away with it because we think it's because we've got bigger but don't you believe it ! Wagon wheels were HUGE compared to other round biscuits but now there's not much in it is there ?

Monster Munch too have felt the effect of culinary downsizing. In a packet there used to be about five huge paw shaped corn snacks, now there are loads of little ones. BTW pickled onion flavour rules!!!!

you seem to have moved on a little from Cadbury's, but anyway...
I have to say that i absolutely adore Cadbury's orange creams...mm-mmm
And somebody mentioned Terry's chocolate oranges...where, pray, can one obtain a specimen of that delectable species in Australia...for purely scientific purposes, of course!

terrys choc orange mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
yummy
i better not move to australia then, i've eaten two of the things this month alone.
i also read a very dodgy fan fiction (buffy-angel) in which Spike, Xander and Angel reflect on the joys of just this confection.
Although I dont think terry's intended it to be used for quite that purpose.......
ok, I'll go and behave now
sorry

Whoa there.
'I'll go and behave now', or start a thread on dodgy fan-fiction.
can't believe confectioners have such a cavalier attitude! tho I am allergic to coffee so all of it is anathema to me. (No, really. How 'bout coffee-free areas on trains? that'd be nice.) And raspberry ripple ice cream is still around, fortunately. There's lots to be thankful for (some things have got complex but it's okay if the original option remains.)
However... Cadbury's Roses are now shameful, pale imitations and must be stopped. (Voodoo death curses? On paper, they can be really scary. We could call up a demon to inhabit the chocolate machine- not an evil one like in the mangler, but a benevolent one which replaces dull nut/caramels with fruit centres once more.)
And joy will be ours! etc.
