Cadbury's Roses, must be stopped!
Jim Lynn Posted Dec 30, 2001
According to my mole in Cadbury's, this change was for cost reasons - they were trying to get the cost down. I think it's a disgrace, and they've shot themselves in the foot. It's just a box of caramel and nut chocolates. They've taken the 'Rose' out. I used to prefer Roses to Quality Street - not any more.
I refuse to buy any more. I'm bitterly disappointed.

Has this been followed up seriously? Do Cadbury's know of our plight? Should we get our MP's involved?
I think a petition is needed.
*stirring patriotic anthem plays in the background*
Please register your name and whereabouts in this Strawberry and Orange cream-less world you are and lets see if we, the little people, are able to tip the balance of justice back on to the level or perhaps a little bit over towards our side - maybe...
*patriotic anthem builds to crescendo*
Let us not forget what makes this world go round - that's right....
CHOCOLATE!

Isn't it always the same? They change something to reduce the cost and end up ruining the whole things. I predict that by next Christmas the sales of Roses will be a 5th of what they were if they don't put the creams back in, and even if they do change back, it will probably be too late as we shall all have found an alternative.
I certainly shan't be buying them ever again - and with my excessive chocolate consumption, I probably represent 5% of their entire market!!!!
(Fortunately I have found solace in Terry's chocolate orange and massive bars of Galaxy!!)
P.S. I am giving up chocolate as my New Year's Resolution (again) and so I have to consume it all by tomorrow night....

Chocolate milk?
Milk chocolate?
Why is there more milk than chocolate in chocolate milk, and vice versa?
Milk, chocolate?
Chocolate, milk?
I'm being philosophical again, I think...
Therefore I am.
Milk chocolate milk...
Chocolate milk chocolate...

If you let a mug of hot chocolate go cold does it then become chocolate milk? Can you therefore add some ice-cream and whisk it up a bit and call it a chocolate millkshake? Or will it always be a cold mug of hot chocolate?
These questions keep me awake at night you know...8)
mmmmmm....

Me, I much prefer the nuts and caramel ones
I'm obviously their target market So why did nobdy give me Roses for Chrimbo?

Shouldn't it be "me is a heretic"?

Thanks guys. I've just said good bye tofriends + their three sons who have been here for New Years day. As they left, I realised that the boys had been secretl;y helping themselves some 'Celebrations' that I had thought I'd put 'out of the way' and have left nothing but the dull Topics (back by public demand - yeah right) So i don't even have celebrations!
This isn't fair - I'm pregnant. Somebody be nice to me
Is it me or are celbrations really quite dull?

I'm concerned Cloviscat that as a nut eater, if allowed to eat nutty chocs while pregnant, your Cloviskitten will develop a taste for nuts, and we shall be over-run by nut-eaters. The same nut-eaters who persuaded the marketing bods to do away with the creams. So for the sake of all us chocolate-cream eaters, it's best you stay away from them altogether. Have a satsuma instead!!
P.S. How's it going? You must be about 5 months now. Do keep us posted.

22.5 weeks - call it five and a half months - have I got a bump! and it kicks...
I'm not allowed peanuts (not to mention pate, blkue, cheese, yaddah yaddah) - fancy getting through Xmas with no peanuts and only 2 units of alcohol! So hazelnut choccies are a good consolation...
But be warned - Lipsbury Pinfold, father of the Cloviskitten, agrees with me entirely about the cremes vs nutty caramels - with a genetic pool like that, what can you expect????

Seeing as they have changed their whole selection to suit your entire family, if it is a girl, you will have to call her Rose.

Wish they'd send me a sample box then!
Have got it down to 8 girls' names and 5 boy's names, but have got stuck at that point - thinking of running a Eurovision style competition to cut the field down...
But no, Rose is not on the list - how about Praline though?

Yay!! I'm off to buy a large tin of Roses
I hate the 'creme' fillings. Bring on the nuts. I must try the big purple ones asap!
But then I can't travel without Marmite, which is celebrating its centenary this year .

Why cadburys, why?
I have an example of the offending chocolates by me right now. Imagine my delight when I was given a whole box of roses to myself, allowing me to eat all the good ones first. I've been picking through them all day and have decided that the only thing worth eating is the caramel keg. Will definately request quality street next year. I quite like the new 'chocolat bite' though...
